You may want to buy a 400D to play with? I'm not sure about the cost, but please prepare to spend some money on lenses and accessories such as flash if you wanna be more serious. :D

So I can shoot @ F2 when i use my 50mm F1.8? Then if I wanna get a larger DOF and retain sharpness, what's the next smaller Fstop number at this focal length? (actually I'm not sure if I'm speaking correctly, but that's what I understand from this thread)

Okay that clears up the fog. Thanks guys for all the help. So I can say that @ 50mm, the prime is good coz it's specifically built for that focal length and has big aperture. And to refer to the colour contrast, (just bought my 50mm F1.8) It's really cool! :D VERY VERY NICE =D LIKE IT...

I like the LC shot, got the motion feel, damn cool! Another one which I prefer would be the Nolo shot. As for Vinyl Richy, you may want to isolate your subject more.
