doubt it reads the distance, most probably its the minimum f stop of ur lens that causes the change. with the tamron, it will expose correct without the distance reading. its ur cam that decides.

the 17-50 is a aps-c size lens, not for full frame.

u seems to have answered ur own question :dunno: also :bigeyes: all u take is tripod to get u great photos, how i wish i m of that standard. re the 50 1.8 or 1.4, u might want to check out why dpreview uses the 1.8 n not 1.4. according to phil, its sharper.

something that none reply, the hood of the 2470 doesn't travel with the lens, it makes the whole shade more optimize for the focal length, as the 2470's 24 end is extended outwards. it looks better too. :)
