If you can afford it.. go for the gitzo... the quality and weight cannot be matched by anything else... i couldn't afford it and went for a 055MF4 instead.. was on sale at cathay...

i use an RRS BH-40... absolutely :heart: it.. it locks very tight so ur camera won't move at all... but i got someone to bring it back for me so i didn't have to spend on shipping and gst...

haha.. that's really for the pros to sell pics... can just use the standard or power accounts.. power accounts have video, and the ability to use css to customise your entire site (except the content part)... standard accounts just allow unlimited photos, no video, and u can't customise...

I use smugmug.. and it's really great.. not free, but I like the user interface and ease of use.. very intuitive for your friends/family to browse around... and there's unlimited storage, photos can be up to 8MB, and if u take the pro account u can have video too.. and i can get u a $5...

that would be 190proxb... 190xb cannot go horizontal... just last week cathay had an offer for the 190proxb at 185 i think.. with free leg wraps and strap... not sure if it's still on.. coz they offered another tripod this week...

CF is better in most ways - it's stronger, lighter, and reduces vibrations more.. but with normal physics sense, never try to have a set-up that's too top-heavy, esp in windy conditions. That's asking for trouble.. for eg, if u look into gitzo's catalogue, they recommend using at least series 2...

well i have the 10-22... and the lens is quite big. the internal flash is too low to get around it, so you will see the black part since the lens is blocking the light. i suggest getting a proper external flash, or not using flash at all. RRS sells only direct from factory. ie. u have to order from their website. no middleman = lower prices. I'm not too sure about kirk, but i believe they do it the same way....
