    DSLR to the beach

Hi guys, I am thinking of bring my newly bought (kinda 2 weeks old) DSLR to it's first overseas trip to Phuket soon. Are there any precautions that I should take note when doing some beach photography? (No bikini babes ;)) Will be using one lens throughout, so the risk of changing lens at the...

Hi all, thanks for the valuable input. Am now a 60D + 18-55mm owner :)

Another qn. If i get the 18-55mm, can the lens work with this? Will there be any difference with this on the 18-55 and 18-135?

Thanks. Seems my choice is clear by now. 60D with 18-55mm I can probably borrow or get a 2nd hand 18-135 from my friends. There are at least 2 or 3 of them who have them. The difference between the kit 1 (18-55) and kit 2 (18-135) is about $300 which I can save up for future upgrades.

    My first DSLR

yup, the 60D offers that as one of the kit lens

Sorry for asking, but isn't the 18-135 a kit lens?

woah... 7D is out for me haha.. comparing only those 2 models -> 60D and 550D.

    My first DSLR

hmm in that case, coupled together with the 60D, it would be like 1kg? now i'm considering if i should switch to the 550D..;p

Sounds good. But i heard that it might cause vignetting on the 18-135?

Thanks all for your feedback. As I am just starting on photography using a DSLR, I'll go with the kit lens (probably 18-135) first as I can see that I am still able to capture landscape photos like last time. I will venture into macro and better lenses once I am a little more comfortable with...

    My first DSLR

This only groups them according to the focal length. But how does it relate finding the lens suitable for me? I a few photos to share that were taken using my compact camera and handphone. Maybe you can advise me after looking at them...

    My first DSLR

ok i took a look at a small sample of the photos i took. The focal length states 6mm. What does that imply? Are there lenses that are less than 10mm?

    My first DSLR

Hi All, Still wondering if I should wait for the IT show before getting. Are there any reasons not to do so? I don't mind getting it early so that I can practice more before going on my trip. Unless it is more preferable to get it from the IT show.

    My first DSLR

I was intending to get the camera for an upcoming travel which is scheduled before the IT show. Not a must I have to get it before, but if the price at Funan is comparable with those during the IT show, I can buy before then and use it during my trip and play around with it as well.
