"Portrait" Lens and Fish Eye Filter

Dear TS, 50mm f1.4 is quite expensive. To answer your question, you may consider getting the 50mm f1.8 which is cheaper and can do quite a good job. As for the fish eye filter r converter, suggest that you avoid them. Save up for a fish eye lens. the cheaper alternatives are available but...

    Check on AF accuracy

At F2.2 the DOF is quite shallow and the margin for AF error if quite big. If I were to guess, I would say it could be the way you hold to cam. Prolly when using liveview, your stance is a litlle bit more steady (less movement).... I'm just guessing here.

    Help~ Can't decide on lens~

A personal opinion, a flash is definately worth investing. Which to get might be a tricky question to answer... I guess it depends on what you can afford. Getting the higher end ones would be recommended. About lens, try to get faster lens. Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 would be my recommendation due...

Which Lens to go with Canon 7D body

My travel lens is Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 which I think is worked very well so far. So if you're looking at the Canon 17-55mm, then I would say it's a good choice.

    Good Budget Macro/Versatile lens?

For wat you mentioned, you'll need to double your budget and plus a little to get a 2nd hand macro lens. A lens that come to my mind is the Tamron 90mm f2.8. It can also double up as a portrait lens but focussing can be a bit slow due to the long focus range of this lens. Depending on...

Macro shooting with Canon 550D Kit Lens II

Just to add on... for macro, we 99.999999% of the time use manual focussing anyway. WRT extension tube, some bodies might have some error, indicating that there's no lens attached (might not allow shutter release). You'll probably need to find out how to disable this error. The issue that is...
