    Nikon: Made in Malaysia

I don't think Nikon will produce camera body in malaysia, afterall they have a factory in thailand. What the subcontractor in malaysia will produce are lens mounting parts and some camera parts which are to be supplied to thailand's plant. Maybe later Nikon can consider camera body and lens...

    Nikon lens make in china

Given the choice, I would go for MIJ than MIC. Although they go through the same inspection standard and assuming using the same materials, the workers play an important role in the assembly. MIJ assembly workers have better knowledge and experience in dealing and overcoming problems met on...

    Taipei, Taiwan

After seeing your beautiful fotos, I am tempted to make a trip to Taiwan at the end of this year. Which dates in Nov & Dec are good time to travel in Taiwan ? I want to avoid their typhoon season and also the possible chaotic situation during their year end elections. Thanks for your advice.

Rollei 35s shutter mechanical? + other qns

Used Rollei 35 made in Germany fetches better price than those 35 made in S'pore. Rollei S'pore produced much more 35/35T models than German made Rollei 35, so shud hv some used units on market for sale. Basically German & S'pore made units are of same quality, since they share most of the...

Rollei 35s shutter mechanical? + other qns

Those hyperfocal markings on Rollei 35 are not only easy to use, they also produce sharp fotos. The great price difference of used units is mainly due to their lens & coating - range from f3.5 Tessar/Xenar to f2.8/Sonnar. If affordable, then you should get a Sonnar 2.8 with HFT coating.

Vietnam (Hanoi) - Any tips ?

I had asked around those in the our boat, they paid ranging from US25-35 for one night trip. I don't mind if they charge a bit higher as long as they can provide decent meals. I was referring to Halong bay tour when talking about poor communication. Nobody explained to us on where were we...

I had been to Hanoi/Sapa/Halong in April, these are my comments : Taxi - Fares are not that expensive if you take the right kind of taxi with proper meter. Reliable ones are : Hanoi Taxi, MaiLinh, ABC & CP Taxi. Names are shown on front doors of taxi. Tours - There are...

Depending on where you stay, you should first find out which are the spots ideal for viewing sunrise. Prime viewing spots are normally packed with photographers & tourists, so you must go very early. Be careful when trekking because it'll be very dark, you need to bring torchlight along. You...
