1st pic chin might be resting a tad too hard on the hand, portraits sometimes must "cheat" a little, in the case of 1st pic the chin looks distorted, many shots that we see in mags and stuff with models' faces resting on hands etc actually only appear to be resting to avoid distorting the features

the advancement of technology is as such....we are always squeezing more into the same amount of space, given the complexity of such devices, the possibility of failure is much higher, buying a "lemon" is not that uncommon anymore.
