Hello

one of my relative gave me D80. I do not want so planning to sell. It also came with SB-600 flash. Is Sb-600 flash compatible with all new midrange Nikon DSLR Camera? Should I keep SB-600 or sell it off and buy new flash?

Please advise. Appreciate.

Thanks

SB-600 is fully compatible with current DSLRs. Flash power is slightly stronger than the current SB-700, but it does not have CLS commander(master) mode. But it can act as a slave in CLS. It also does not have a dumb optical trigger. But as a hotshoe flash, it is very capable. Quite a good flash and you ought to keep it. One of the weakness of the SB600 is that the tilt angle has no lock, and over time, the gear will wear out. This will cause the head to drop from time to time especially when you have heavy light modifiers attached to the head. The fix is not expensive though, if you know where to get it done.
