[Official thread] Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm f2.8 PRO

Lol... Just like what they had advertised.

Hahaha, it has to la, considering the PRO engraving on the lenses, working photographers abuse their gear more than most of the people here. I know cause I was one, and I've seen many journalist do the same, have you seen 1D and D3s chrome version? It's chrome cause the black scratched off until you see the metal chassis hahaha

Anyway, as said, there are so many reviews already, what more do you need to hear from Wonglp? He tested the lens on me, all my facial hair can be seen digitally, that itself is impressive to me already, and the price is tempting, considering the price for a 70-200 from the other brands

I wished the positive reviews will stop so I can get my hands on this lens...

haha... perhaps its more applicable for ppl like me who wanna drop one system to move over... needs plenty of convincing and serious motivations for us to do it... thus going thru reviews are good brain washing rituals you know... hee

U will not be convinced if u haven't try one urself. Another reason that might be holding u back is u won't get as shallow depth of field as full frame sensor.

If u don't need that thin slice of depth of field, then u should seriously consider moving to mirrorless system for its compact and lightweight goodness.

Hahaah, I know many people like that blurboiboi, no worries

I think shallow dof is over rated, shooting with Nikon FF extensively for the past 3.5 years, I've always found myself wanting more dof, besides, it's not impossible to get shallow dof with 43,just not as easy and if you compare, it's not as nice but honestly, no one is gonna take a print of a 135 DC lens shot with a D4s and walk around looking at prints for m43 and go "yuck... The bokeh looks like crap"

Actually my main worries is any dissatisfaction towards m43 high ISO performance as I shoot my kids mainly indoors n lightings are poor in my residence... But the lighter weight and smaller bulk is really welcome...

Then go rent an EM1 , 42.5/1.2 and test it :) don spend until u are sure it can do what u need it to do.

if that doesn't satisfy U , I think the only logical option left is A7S II and probably a A mount 135/2.

Lol... I love ball ball. More ball ball please.

Details on this new lens is pretty impressive. Clearly shows two kinds of steel on two cooking knives from Germany and Japan, and the wood block that it is holding them together. In "pseudo-macro" mode.
