Sigma 60mm F2.8 DN "Art" lens for M4/3

Sorry is this a macro lens ?

If the answer is no, can I know whether there is any 3rd party macro lens for m4/3 ?

Thanks

It has a maximum magnification of 1:7.2. No, there isn't. Only the two first party lenses already mentioned here.

From Steve Huff's review on the OMD-EM1 .....

" ..... Also, let us not forget the lenses. Micro 4/3 has some of the best lenses made for any system, period. There are many highly recommended jewels in the lineup. At the end of the day this camera gets my highest recommendation. Buy the E-M1 and a couple of nice fast primes and go out and use it ...."

This is real poison, makes me wanna buy a macro lens.

If assuming, I have no issues whether it is 45mm or 60mm, is it better for GH3 users to buy the Panny's 45mm f2.8 macro lens or this Olym 60mm f2.8 macro lens ?

Thanks

If I were using the GH3, the 45/f2.8 makes more sense because it has lens IS. But then it should really be what focal length you desire rather than just a feature of the lens. 45mm vs 60mm is significantly different in terms of usage from the FOV aspect.

And if I am not mistaken (have not looked at it for a while), the 45/f2.8 is priced in the region of S$1K. This, to me anyway, is a major difference compare to the 60/f2.8's S$600. And the 60/f2.8 is weatherproofed.

I am sure either one is optically pleasing :) To date, every time I use the Oly 60/f2.8, I am repeatedly impressed by some shots - it is indeed worth every dollar I paid for it.

A couple more with this lens, just not using it enough.

Hard to focus, had to MF with focus peak on EP5. Yesterday's sunset. Wide open

At F2.8

At F6.3

yes, mine has it too. perhaps yr of manufacture? i haven't tried email from tk, are they fast? i realize msc also have similar tactic, so I do keep the email prices, especially if email say from Florence, but u go to counter and ask anyone sales person, normally it's higher, but msc email response not the fastest, i usually call these days. that's a while back though.

To date, every time I use the Oly 60/f2.8, I am repeatedly impressed by some shots - it is indeed worth every dollar I paid for it.

I borrowed my fren's Olympus 60mm 2.8 macro lens, very good when take portrait shot, the dof is more creamy as compared to Panasonic's.

But when I tried the macro function to take flowers, it took very long to focus ... is the panny 45 f2.8 macro lens oso like that ?

Thanks

1 week is way too long for an email quote from TK...sorry to say, I think it shouldn't even exist. That said, I do call the regular shops these days, it's just much more convenient, and can check stocks as well.

Macro lenses usually slower to AF. The longer the FOV, the more sensitive it is to movements. Hence use of tripods for macro. I actually think the Oly 60/f2.8 one of the faster focusing macro because of the limiter function.
