9. Partipants may not digitally alter, modify or enhance a photo. A participant who alters any photos by using any editing software will be disqualified.

YET - Obvious HDR editing is used below, rest of the gallery also shows other kind of editing techniques.

19. Photos submitted to NCCS in connection with the competition shall become the property of NCCS. If you feel it's unfair then write to them expressing how you feel. If not don't join? Maybe they want to test your composition instead.

However they did not state we can't use in camera edit

in a free market , participants may choose to, or not to, partake in any transaction ...
if you feel the rules are unfair, don't take part. or organize a rival competition

I am ok with shooting and giving to "National Cancer Centre Singapore".. and if they find it useful, good.. but seriously.. Not everything is the same.

It's about those participants who obeyed the rules during the competition..only to find out that some who broke the rules won.

Looking at the obviously low standard of the web design and layout, not to mention the totally back-dated technology they're using. (pop-ups in this day and age?), I'd hazard a guess to say that those photo samples they used are just randomly picked from here and there, and the picker did not even use their brain to think if it was in line with the rules.

Yeah... I guess the organizers might have just took the terms and conditions from somewhere else without giving much thought.

These events are typically organized by the marketing departments and sometimes they may not not even know what they want out if a photo competition

The British were such good sports that they did not believe the Japanese would come by the rear (southern) route - it was just so unsporting to do so in war.

I am new to photography and related competitions.. But I think maybe they just want the most "natural" photo to inspire their cancer patients.. so ya, if I have good "raw" photos, I will just submit.. cos registration is free anyway.. if can win then good for me, if not then nvm.. just a thought.. :think:

The point is, IF they want the most natural form then why are there obvious EDITED-WINNING images in their gallery? Doesn't matter whether its a free or paid registration unless you yourself don't even respect own rights. (Read their point 19 carefully.)
