Sounds pretty familiar too, eh?

Take for example the hair dressing industry in Singapore. Ive seen salons promoting haircuts anywhere from a dollar onwards?! I know its a marketing strategy but it just makes the whole industry look so cheap! Wouldnt it be better if you just gave FREE haircuts and persuaded the clients to do chemical while youre cutting their hair? What does it say about your salon if you rate your haircuts at 2 dollars? I think youll have a better career as a beggar with no rent and no overheads! Hair dressing use to be a skill that you can chose to acquire if youre not good in school but where is the pride now when haircuts can go as low as 80 cents on promotion? Freelancers in this industry doesnt really help either. Do you think the reason they can charge such low rates is because they dont have to pay rent or TAX? They are so plastic! Ive seen them suck up to stylists by telling horrible pretentious lies to get free publicity! Lucky i dont have to pretend coz Im David Gan and I have Passion! I see a very dark future for our industry if this joke continues.
I take pride in being the best hair dresser i can be by providing my skills and service as well as creating the perfect environment for all my clients. Having the right teacup, music, pictures, displays etc makes a difference because every little thing counts. Ive been working for 30 years and Im very thankful to still have a hand full of clients who believes in my skills and the good service that my salon provides.
Im very disappointed and Ill never understand why people would charge such low rates for haircuts nowadays but I have to learn to live with their existence
