Actually I thought it's the other way? Their people willingly gets cheated by them ;p
Thats is how all scam starts... also includes children in debts, lying to their aging parents to sign over their HDB flats to them. Therefore... there is no worst or less worst... all the victims suffers.
I'll let the LAW handle this... as this is nothing more than White Collar Crime in my eyes... :think:

Agree, so this is not cheating as Sun Ho's videos have been on the internet for a long time and members know what they are in for. The members give willingly and they should be praised for their pure sacrifice and for giving to a cause they believed in until their "heart is broken."

Accusations were already made in 2002/2003 by a Mr Roland Poon Swee Kay but people choose to turn a blind eye to it. Do they seriously think that Sun Ho is making tonnes of money from her singing?
This is so similar to the NKF case where accusations were also made but later the accusers have to apologise under duress.

The man is being charged in a secular court. What in the world has faith gotta do with it? If he has indeed abused the money entrusted to him then he is indeed evil, nothing wrong with his words at all.
Did I say Christian church? Or Did I say catholic church / baptist church / parish church? If u are offended by the use of words CHURCH then maybe you should also write to the press to avoid using of the words CHURCH OR SPECIFICALLY CITY HARVEST CHURCH. Again I didn't infer to Christian church alThough one's can get the specific church from the press / news / pastors.

i think you mis-interprete this, and quote it out of context ... the money does not have Pastor Kong Hee's face on the note.... so, the people are giving him money belonging to Republic of Singapore to Pastor Kong Hee. Taking things which does not belong to you,... in pure English translation means stealing. Maybe i should express it in aramic to avoid mis-interpretation?
Look at his facebook page and see how his members address him ... they address him as Pastor Kong .... if you address a businessman as Pastor, then, you may wish to address the billionaire Peter Lim, Pastor Peter Lim as well. It's an honorary address,. no ?
Why is he called a pastor and not reverent ? is there a difference? Because he is a founder of a church and not ordained by the bishops of a church,... is that why ?

Isn't that enough? We don't have any religious laws here, only laws of man. We cannot put a man on trial for the wrongs he has done against "god" because we have no such laws but we can put a man on trial for the wrongs he has done against his fellow man. And that is what Kong Hee is accused of, committing a wrong against a fellow man. Please do not start quoting the bible in this case as it is irrelevant. Did he break the law? Well that is what he is accused of. The trial will prove whether he is innocent or guilty.

ok, i feel that this thread needs to be moderated now.
anyway personally i have nothing against church or religion.
but with exception, i dun feel CHC operates like a church, more like a company and their super star is their pastor Kong and their worshippers worship him as if he is the god.
anyway i also got some doubts:
- are church even allow to setup affiliation, subsidiaries etc to engage in commercial activities like investment?
- is the current cash donation process transparent? I understand from my gf who is a CHC member... that cash donation were made to an envelop... imagine 23K members... each donate $200 for example... they can easily undeclare XX millions, who will know? who is going to audit their cash donation?
now it makes me wonder why i study so much and i can never earn as much as them. maybe i should take up bible studies or buddhism study then be a pastor or monk to start a church or temple.

definitely. my uncle and cousin once asked me to become a pastor so that we can start a funeral services company. i was totally -.-
What bothers me about some of the charismatic 'churches' is that the leaders never went to any Bible seminary, they just claim they are led by the holy spirit.
