Hello friends, I will be visiting Bangkok and I'm hoping if any of you can recommend nice places to take photos. I'll be staying somewhere near Lumpini Park, so I wonder if this is a good place to start.

Also, I've started doing night shooting, so I would like to ask Bangkok experts here if there are any places like MBS Skypark or Victoria Peak in Bangkok where I can get a great panaromic night view of the city?

Many thanks and much appreciate :)

I been to Bangkok many times.

You can check out my Bangkok Flickr page here for ideas:
Bangkok - Kanchanaburi - a set on Flickr

I went during their Songkran period last year.

The only place that can offers u such panaromic views are:
Vertigo bar @ Banyan tree
Lebua @ State Tower
Bluesky @ Sofitel Centara Grand
Baiyoke Sky

There isn't any peaks in Bangkok itself so u can only go to the above establishments to have a meal + drinks while shooting.

Anyway Lumpini Park is quite far away from shopping belts.

Bangkok itself is very city... so if your genre in photography interests does not lies in temples and city life... it may be worth to travel outside Bangkok for more sights (such as Ayuttaya , Kanchanburi etc)

Thanks sinned79! Went to your Flickr page and love the pics :) How did you prevent your camera from being soaked?

I'll definitely make my way up the buildings you mentioned. Thanks again!!

Maybe you can try going to the Grand Palace(Wat Phra Kaew), Wat Pho(Temple of the Reclining Buddha), Wat Aun(Temple of Dawn) and so on...... Grand Palace and Wat Pho is beside each other, but for Wat Arun sometimes the taxi driver don't go there. There is also a floating market and the infamous night life red light district call Patpong along Silom Road. If you have the time you can travel all the way to Kanchanaburi to vist the Tiger Temple, just check with your hotel for the tour package and please do not wear any striking colour clothings that might excite the tigers and it might attack you.... Happy holiday to Bangkok, Thailand(Land of Smiles)
