Will be driving up ClubMed Cherating this coming May.
Took up their offer of 1 + 1 for a 4 nights stay for 1.2k
Need advice on the best route to take.

Thanks

The route depends on your competence on Malaysian roads and how fast you want to get there.
For typical Singaporean drivers with no experience at overtaking or have little understanding of the road etiquette on B roads, use the North South as far as you can, then look for the turn off towards Kuantan.
For those who have time the more scenic coastal road is nice but you need to know how to overtake and do it safely without killing yourself and the oncoming driver.
After Kuantan, its one way up to Cherating.

Download the MalSing GPS map onto your GPS if you can.

Google this from somewhere:

Generally 2 routes, personally I will take route 2 not only it's faster, also because I can stop-by Yong Peng South for the famous fish ball noodle :)

Route 1. From JB > Kota Tinggi > Trunk Road 3 up north past Mersing, Kuala Rompin, Pekan and Kuantan.

Route 2. A faster NSE (E2) > Exit at 241 Yong Peng Utara > Segamat > Tun Razak Highway > At Gambang, go eastward > Kuantan > If you don't want to make a stopover at Kuantan, turn into Highway 3 which bypasses Kuantan and head straight to Cherating, Kuala Terengannu and beyond.

Very useful advise.

If taking Route 2, always try to bypasses Kuantan, during rush hour it can easy jam to to half an hour time. :)
