50mm f1.8 L (white colour)

Just out of curiousity... is your process reversible? Lets say someday you choose to remove the paint, what are the consequences?

I have a Tamron 17-50mm with a red ring for the L look, lol. However, i did it with a red line sticker instead of paint.

Looking to "L" up my 85mm F1.8 next... do you think its ok just to use red paint for the L line? or is permanent marker better?

Very creative!! Love ur idea bro!! May b I should paint my tele lens as camouflage :p .

cool!

since you've already put effort on it, why not include the remaining black part in front?

hi,

Not sure it is reversible. you can do some test before you paint. put a little bit of the acrylic paint on the similar surface you are going to paint. when dry, try methods mention online e.g., How to Remove Acrylic Paint | eHow.com

for red line, paint or marker? answer is; Acrylic paint is better. Using marker is easier. you will understand after you use the acrylic paint. like a thin layer of rubber when dried. (and also, for this reason, i think it can be peel off even after dry.) so, best idea is use marker on top of the acrylic paint is ok. don't apply marker directly on lens surface will be very difficult to clean.

cause' 70-200 front part is black. just trying to imitate.

Awesome paint job! Did you consider using the "official" Canon white paint for the job. Apparently it can be purchased separately.

The product code is CY9-8078-001.

quite nice and quite even for a job done with a paint brush! can't wait to see if you have other lens conversion projects hehe... how about beauty shots of the 50 with your 70-200.

Good paint job, but still a fake L.

LOL... well said! and it is a uniquely faked L ... no L lenses are white..... do you wan't to be the first one with white 50 1.2 ?? hehehehe

cool.. can you paint mine as well.. haha..

lol.... I would be more than happy to do so! Honestly, the happiest part is the process of painting....
