5D's rival in nikon is d700

yup most nikon glass is sharper than canon's(and more expensive), well if u thought that's is the best choice for u then u should follow ur heart and jump ship cos in the end it's about ur feeling on using the cam, other people opinion means nothing

PS: i would be willing to take ur 5D if u want to sell it away lol :p

please bear in mind that its really costly to switch camps, but then again welcome to the dark side ;)

i still counting and plan if which i should really use

The cheapest FX body for Nikon is D700 and I guess you need not have to consider other FX bodies (which will exceed your budget).

Not supporting any brand, maybe u should get a 1d to compare with D3?

5D is usually pit with D700
he only compared the image quality, in that case the comparison is valid since d700 shares the same sensor as d3.

Oh well, fair enough. Maybe it's just me, I just feel D3 is way superior than D700 or 5D. Look, build & feature :p

I really suggest you SHOULD NOT jump ship on canon. I suppose you have L lenses too, it's a lost if you sell all and buy nikon's. To be honest, pricing almost the same. You should upgrade to the 1D series, at the same time also keeping the lenses.

Dear Solofire, I believe you should just work with what you have at the moment . I think you are abit lost in all the hardware paraphernalia blinb blings that you missed the sight of taking photos

I am a Canon user and I really like Nikon DSLR after trying it for a while. However the reasons why I did not switch camp is due to the much higher price of the lenses. If the price of the Nikon lenses reduces to Canon's level, I think I will make a switch. ;)

Hi there is something I have been thinking for a long time why is nikon call the dark side

Because Canon long lenses are mostly in white and Nikon lenses are mostly black.

i thought it's like star wars reference?

First DSLR (regardless of any brands), good side. If you switched means you went over the "other side" AKA the dark side.

Never heard of it having that meaning haha, the usual explanation is like what DD123 mentioned

well it makes more sense if it were. canon has black lenses, so as nikon has white lenses.
