Old & Retired Newbie reporting

Self taught photographly during younger days and started of with Oylumpus OM2, now brought D90+70 300 and A55 w 500mm digital camera ...Hard time learning again.

May I know, why everytime I photographed say a bird, others pro posted are in large size but mine even crop to it tightness the image still look smaller.


Please explain to me if you don't mine.

Not sure what exactly you mean by the words in bold... care to explain further?

i think if u using 70-300, it may not close enough unless the subject is quite close to you. for pros, they usually use more than 300mm.

Not exactly sure what you mean by the words in bold. Basically, Pro or not, they usually take photos using 400mm lens with 2x converter for the extra reach to take birds. Some may invest in 600mm or 800mm lens just for birding.

Your thread title states "Old & Retired". Are you referring to your age or were you a previous
CS member after stopping for a long while and coming in to post again.
If you are referring to your age and you are not 90 and above, please don't call yourself old.
Anyway, nobody should call themselves old as our beloved MM is almost 90 and is not calling
himself old and definitely not going to retire anytime soon!!!:bsmilie::bigeyes:

Hi stanycjw,

If i have not understand wrongly, you are asking why your image posted is smaller than other people?

in that case, you should link your large image from flickr. From what you have posted, you have link a 640 (long side) images. you flickr max image size is 800.

If you want bigger image, you should upload a 1024 (long side) image to flickr.
