im currently having a canon 60d with 18-200mm lens and im thinking of buying a 650-1300mm Telephoto Zoom Lens that cost me 300US dollars, is it worth it?
This would be a telescopic lens that has been converted to the Canon mount. You need to check for reviews using google, and determine if the image quality is acceptable to you, if you will get vignetting, how small the equivalent aperture is, how comfortable you are with manual focus, and if you really need that sort of lens.
My advice is don't get the lens. For me, the lens is more important than the body as it will make or break the image quality. Putting a poor quality lens on a 60D body is a waste of money. The lens probably have a small maximum aperture - F/5.6 or f/8 and no IS. You will need a tripod to get anything (decent?) out of it.
you do realize the lens EXTENDS when you zoom in, don't you?ok thx guys, i guess the 200mm is still good enough for me .. and i don take xmm photo, i only slightly change my lcd angle and place the camera on my legs while sitting down and shooting some ... u know!
i still prefer taking nature and wildlife as well as extradinary things but at the same time take some .. U KNOW! and not too obvious at the same time,i will work on this ..

that's not something I would wanna see, if the lens is on your lap whilst you're doing that! :bsmilie:
and it will look damn obscene when you have to zoom in while the camera is seated on your lap.... especially when you are shooting you know.....? haha =x

Then you probably will need at least the 600mm reach.
That would make it as obvious as the crescent moons on the members of our water polo team. :bsmilie:
