btw, congrats to our first SG D7000 owner. ;)

Hi guys thought I'll share some info. Enquired with Click! This afternoon in Tampines. The boss said worst case scenario it comes out end of NEXT month.

Anyway with a RRP of 2300 it doesn't sound so bad. Just think about it: subtract 450 for a new lens and you are left with 1850 body only RRP. and the street should be around 1650. But it's still on the high side ... :(

Not sure the stock situation for people buying it for the school holidays vacation trip.

dun forget to factor in petrol cost, highway toll cost ...
buy in sng, save the hassle...
i'm from jb, thinkin of gettin from sng to save the headache...jus in case

for those who like to complain abt the price even before seeing wat the cam can do... yeah, feel free to do so. amazing how people can pass judgment even before seeing it. and yeah... street price will probably be a lot cheaper than 'jaw dropping' RRP, especially if you visit your fav shop and pay in cash.

for a magnesium, weather-sealed body, true 1080P HD-movie capable with auto-AF tracking, 100% viewfinder, and ISO25,600 (and yes, to my untrained eye, i can say it is almost equal to my D3... dat is quite something, from a DX camera) among other new goodies... i think it is worth it. :)

i happy to pay that price even if it's ard 1.8-1.9K.. Its well justified

I am going to New York tomorrow, wonder if I can buy it at a good price there?

Personally after having to try the camera and took shots of it with the kit lens. I feel that this camera can do really wonderful stuff. For a moment I do feel that its specs is as good as my D700 except that its DX and also the VF is 100% where my D700 is not.

The noise control at 3200 which i shoot most often in is superb, the full HD video recording will eventually make my wedding shoot alot more fun esp where my assistant can record bloopers. With the auto AF tracking for video recording. Its a lot of fun shooting video with nice DOF play...much easier than having to manual focus or the previously slow AF.

The size of it fits a guy's hand nicely and also just nice for a lady. Its also a first in its class to be built in magnesium alloy body. If one thinks that the price is lsightly high becoz its an entry level camera...why not look at it that the price is slightly higher becoz its a really great camera? Think of it as the glass is half filled than half empty. Cheers guys

I need the D7000 yesterday and most here are up to speed with the price.

Cheers.
