on the sg nikon site the RRP is S$1699. Most local stores will usually be selling at 80% of the RRP which is roughly $1359.
A quick check at amazon.com, it is selling at US$799.95=S$1042
A whole $300 difference.... Just buy a few more lenses with this price difference, the money saved can pay for a trip to us.

shipping to an us address is free....
btw, how long does it need to be used before gst is not considered? For example, you are working there for a few months and bought stuffs. Do you still need to pay gst for these things which you have already been using when you come back to sg?

Very subjective one. But once the package is open, and the lens in a camera bag or something, they usually don't bother. But if you have multiple copies of the same lens, that might come under suspect. That is if they even bother to ask you to open up to check. Most of them don't, as they are only looking for contraband cigarettes.

Live rates coming in....

USD hit all time low against SGD..

1.2919 as it reads nw..

time to BBB sth from Bhpvideo soon!!!

actually they're quite lax (my opinion) nowadays. Seems like they're much more concerned about dangerous items and drugs, cigarettes, etc.

But still.... to try and carry say... 2 or 3 sets of nicely packaged lenses is kinda asking for trouble :bsmilie:
