why am i quoted 719 for the lx5 from HN funan? rise of price over just a few days?
Simple, this is a free market mechanism with demand and supply at work. When demand is more than supply, dealers can actually raise the price and earn from the difference? And also, actually, different dealers have different pricings, and it's a choice of yours to select your preferred dealer (be it in terms of pricing, bundled gift, etc)
The recommended counter price from Panasonic Singapore is actually S$799, and dealers typically offer cheaper prices actually.
actually i already knew elsewhere selling 680... but my friend wanted white which other places have ran out of stock.
the salesman first quoted me 799.. i asked him for best price and he quoted me 730. i just gave him a doubtful look.. and he asked me how much I am willing to go lor.. i just quote him 680 and he's ok.
sometimes if you know the prices in other shops it's easier to compare.
ya..went down today to funan and almost all the shops there are out of stock for LX5..so ended up in HN and the guy quoted me 719 after i tell him i dun need all the tripod blah blah blah things then i jus took my leave..didnt realise that HN can bargain like you did man..haha
yeap..this was the price they quoted me initially. counter offered them 680sgd for the camera and after pressing the calculator, the deal was sealed under CASH payment terms.
HN Funan has stock for both white and black version of the camera, just got mine 3hrs ago.
just got mine from Cathay 2 hours ago. They still have stock for black. TK Funan and Alan Funan out of stock. HN Funan has them, but was quoted 699 without all the accessories.

I got the last white set from HN Funan yesterday, all the rest of the usual shops were totally out for Black and White colours.
Thought it was a good deal, paid what most others did, with the usual card + case, the saleman just asked me to quote my cash-price and i did :bsmilie: Perhaps i could go lower but didn't really bargin.
Actually, like what the saleman was saying, HN can be pretty flexible on some items too, not just the ususal shops. Me, being the overlly cautious type also decided to get the extended warrnaty by HN, so my LX5 is now covered for 1+4yrs (parts&labour). Managed to get more freebies too, so i'm pretty pleased.
The only issue that I have is that we are paying a premimum on this camera and the standard free case and straps are pretty low quality. Its like a over-sized spectacle case!
Anyway, battery all charged now, time to play....

good service must be supported.

Its S$680 Cash. White LX5, comes with Lumix Casing and 8GB Card! Best deal around so far and ready stock @ HN Funan! Got mine earlier today!
