It's an awesome camera. Got it for my mother

Really tempted to get this... but now the LX5 is also coming... dilemma...
but still more inclined to EX1 !!! :)

any idea how much will this camera cost in upcoming COMEX 2-5 Sept 2010?

Retail price listed at $699 with Freebies (16G, Camera case...)

Saleman offered $679 with Freebies.

Optical view finder at $219 (original price at $299) with purchase of EX1.

Wideangle Converter at $219 (original price at $299) with purchase of EX1.

Hoping they repeat the $499 special from PC show!

You may check the latest price at SLR Revo, MS Color and Alan Photo. I think their prices are better than Comex 2010 and Courts.

Hello new to the forum and not sure if i can post here, if cannot mod pls remove it, thanks!im looking to sell my Samsung EX1, bought 4 months ago (1 year warranty), but very rarely used, comes with screen protector since day 1.

All original box and accessories, plus an additional original battery and a good quality pouch. asking for $550, comex 2010 is selling for $699.

Please contact Jasmine at 8121 8469, thanks!

Just curious, is it just my set or is the IS on the EX1 rather ineffective?

I find that the lowest SS i can use outdoors is 1/15s. (standing, with proper breathing techniques). Anything lower is a hit and miss. Barely 1 ev improvement loh.

How many owners can get sharp images while standing, at 24mm, below 1/8s shutter speed without resting ur arms on any support?

I am not sure if the following is helpful to you. The Samsung EX-1's IS system is not as refined and effective as say, the similarly priced Panasonic TZ10's Power O.I.S system. This is regardless of whether at each camera's extreme wide-end or extreme tele-end.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Well, I was expecting similar performance as power OIS from panasonic (something like 1/5th @ 90mm). But I was expecting at least 2 stops of stabilization, which equates to about 1/6th @ 24mm, and hence the disappointment.

Went on friday comex. Salesman say selling $629 + free 3 original batteries + 16gb card + remote control + HDMI cable + original case + screen protector.

Good deal? :dunno:
Maybe sunday might have better deal?

from the last few weeks ....... that tilt and swivel AMOLED screen rocks !

i bought the ex1 recently even though i wanted a camera with HD video, but the salesman was saying can convert from h.264 to HD...how is that possible?
Also, they gave a HDMI cable even though there is no HD recording, i'm puzzeld by this...

Another thing, is it possible for Samsung to release a firmware for Panoramic shots? or is this not possible at all in future?

i think there is a panoramic perspective in Photo Size under 3648x2048 but then it gives a 7mp image

thanks for the info, would have preferred if Samsung includes a in-cam stitching for panoramic shots...

one more thing i realized from playing with this cam...is it not possible to shoot raw+jpg in smart filter mode? i love that you can do post editing in the camera itself to the raw/jpg files, but it's a pity that i can't shoot raw+jpg with the filters itself. like Olympus does with their art filters, you can shoot in raw+jpg where only the jpg files will have the art filters applied, leaving raw, raw.

i like to shoot in that perspective. pretty much gives the 16:9 feel that i had on lx3.. haha if only they had built-in panoramic stitching... that will give sony nex users a run for their $!

ditto the feeling and opinion is mutual, friend

I have been following this thread with great interest for some time...I sold away my LX3 some time back...and I finally got this wonderful camera at Comex today...yippie!!
