Hi All,

This is mx from Sydney. I'll be arriving in Singapore on 13th Sept for like 9 days. Can someone list me some names/locations of where i can take some landscape photos? I have 9 days so I have plenty time to travel around by public transport.

My second destination will be Malaysia and I'll be travelling from Singapore I guess. Should be some good places to take some landscape :). Will it be safe at night time? I'm planning to go for some long exposure shots. Any tips? Locations?

Thanks :D

Hi,

As for location in Singapore, check out the sticky thread in Landscape section, a lot of place for you to explore.

You go free and easy I suppose. Buy an EZlink card when you arrive in MRT (metro) station. For you to use on public transport.

As for M'sia, it is relatively big compared to Singapore. You need to be specify which town / area you heading to.

As for M'sia in detail, you may check other similar site: Photomalaysia.

Thanks for your info and reply Shen siung !!!. I will be looking at landscape section and Photomalaysia.

Thanks again :)

to add on what Shen siung has mentioned, here is Singapore network train map.

Singapore is quite a safe place to move around at night, just be cautious like traveling anywhere in the world.

If you shopping for lenses, cameras, you can may a trip down to Funan Shopping Mall, nearest MRT station is City Hall. Do check them out.

not to miss this link for general information.

HTH. Cheers. :)

Cool haha. I'll go Funan shopping mall for sure then ;) Can you bargain with them for price and what's the Tax refund for tourist? Like in Aus, it's 10% so quite a lot if I can claim it back :D

Awesome mate, that's place on my list too. Have you guys been up there, what's the best time to up there? Morning or Noon? I was gonna ask about fees for going up. I found it in FAQ. I guess, i'll be there for twice for sure. One for night shots and one for day haha.

Wow, you are well loaded to be able to go up twice ;) Jokes aside, you can just go up, say around 5.30 pm and stayed until sunset (until 8 pm) if you want to save your time so no need to return again.

Haha Shen, that's good advice ;)

Oh by the way, I just looked at the marina sky park and realized that professional photographic equipment is classified as PROHIBITED ITEMS, I suppose Tripod will be included too?

Hello MX

How much time do you have for Malaysia? For good scenery, a trip along the east coast will be great for photography. You'll experience rural life in the villages that dot the coastline. Cherating (Trengganu) is a good place to spend a few days. If you like to see historical places, head for Malacca.

Enjoy your stay!

Yes, tripod are not allow to use up there, but nobody will stop you to bring up a small (that can be put inside a normal (not too big) camera back pack) tripod.

If guards seeing you using a tripod, they will stop you. a few of them up there.

Yes, depends your time.
To Melaka, a trip from Singapore (book from tour agent) is good.
But for east coast, better to drive up there, which, may have some difficulties for you.
