Agree on this but OP has their job to be done.

Now, I'm pondering which ticket to buy - Normal Walkabout or the Bay Grandstand?

Will be there with 70-200 + 2x TC so dunno wat to choose as I gave the last 2 yr races a miss but my fav driver is back so I've got to go and capture smth. ;)

:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Although with another team, he's still my fav but I wondered if he still has that drive in him. Nevertheless, I can't wait for the F1 season to start.

Hope he got talk with the other drivers....Singapore street circuit is not exactly Monaco circuit.

They posted the entire price list at the newspaper, forgot what date. The high end cats is around 1088. There's a new cat called Zone 4 Walkabout, a set of 3 days cost roughly 400+ odd. Best is I can get free tickets for Fri Walkabout, or if not LL then get one for myself.

ic .. thanks for the info...
now i am thinking to get the grandstand or just the premier walkabout?
last year i was at the bay grandstand... but not much i could capture, as not much items to take ... basically only the cars. no artist or vvip people.. ;(

no more tix for individual day entrances?

i will only be there on the sat evening.

anyone care to share what's lense best for F1 ?

Depends. Wide for crowd shots + the atmosphere around. Tele any thing from 200mm onwards for close-up of drivers, stars and of cos the F1 cars.

For flexibility plus low cost if you wanna buy 1 lens will be the tamron 18-270 VC or the 18-200 variants of each individual camera brand makers. Of cos, you nid to pump up ur ISO as these lenses are not on constant aperture.

I think the 70-200mm f/2.8 IS/VR has the versatility. Add a TC for extra reach.

Probably good enough for the people/atmosphere shots but won't be long enough for the car shots.

Not that it's impossible but you probably won't like it.

55-250, near the 250 end: (resized, uncropped - on 500D)

So are you going to shoot RB5 ;p RB6 again this year?

RB6 imo is still the nicest car on this year grid  Adrian Newy is really a talented designer.

Actually I kindda dig the Virgin car :)

Ferrari has a little too much white this year, might end up being a bit.. bleh

MercGP and McLaren may be a pain to shoot, silver always throws my focus off.

I always had problems shooting the RBs and TRs. Cam keeps focus-finding.

Renault might be interesting, all bumblebee and everything. I managed to get a great Alonso shot last year that's A2 printed and hanging in my room :)

Lotus with its trademark green/black may be a challenge also.

Still deciding on a GS seat or a Premium walkabout...... Turns 1-3 look interesting to shoot :dunno:

Turn 1 -3 will be nice, cos the cars will slow down for the turns. But the price is way high, above $1k. ! ? For me, I think I shall just get the walkabout tickets, then go rent a 55 - 250 lens. Anyone know where to rent lens ? care to share ?

1-day tickets will usually be open for sale only after the early bird period.

there were 1 day tickets during the early bird period last year.

i know, cos i almost missed the early bird period... bought on the second last day i think...

dont need their approval...as long its not chop from their official photos gallery and entirely your own photo, you are free to do whatever you want.

Bro, Mr Bernie Ecclestone owns the rights of the images (still and moving pictures) of the Formula 1 cars. Even if you did not shoot them from within the circuit park, by selling the pictures of the cars you took from outside the circuit park, you are still not allowed to sell them commercially. Only for your own private use. He has even sold the rights of the sound of the cars to Sony. That is why even some users have uploaded their video footage to youtube etc and they have been taken down.

Logos, trademarks of the Formula 1, F1, FIA, etc also protected. Also can't paste as your own watermark, website logo, fansite logo, etc.

I was at turn 2 last year. Fantastic view. Thinking of turn 2 or 3 for this year.
