Post Processing with regard to White Balance in Raw File

Hi, I would like to seek advice from u all with regard to the post processing on the White balance shoot in Raw file. Currently, Im using CS4 and Adobe Lightroom. May I know what is the faster method to standardise the white balance using CS4 and/or Adobe Lightroom after shooting in Raw File?

Recently, I have bundle of photos need to PP and all the photos were taken in Raw File. It were taken in same day but several location (indoor and outdoor). As there are lot of inconsitent of white balance, i would like to seek the faster way to adjust the white balance for all my photos.

Don't know if this is the best option, but I would select several photos taken in same lighting in Adobe Bridge and choose the WB if you are familiar with K settings or play with it till you think it is the most accurate and convert it. Do the same for the others that was taken in similar environment, meaning group them and convert them in same batch.

Not sure if this is the fastest and best option, but I think that is what I will do.

you can group them into many similar WB groups, pick one from a group and process it, apply the same setting to the rest of photos in the same group.

I think you are referring to finding 1 white balance and applying it to all your photos taken at roughly the same time / conditions right?

Just select 1 photo, fix the white balance for it to your liking. Looking at the setting involved, press control+a to select all photos and then apply the same settings to it by clicking "sync" at the bottom right

I find LR very useful for this as it allows you to adjust the settings on one file and then sync it to others

As what you said, may be I need to regroup all the photos followed by selecting one photo from each group to adjust the W/B. For u suggestion, I did not use it so far, is it workable in CS4?
I prefer to use Adobe Bride but don't really familiar on this. think must try u suggestion to pick few photos at the same time to adjust it.

Yup, in certain case I use LR too. .

It works in Lightroom 2.

If you have specific photos you want to work with, you can try this.

1) Right click each photo you want -> add to quick collection
2) When done with all photos you want -> click the quick collection at the top left side, under navigator, you should be able to see all the photos u added
3) Choose one and adjust the white balance
4) Press control + a and press sync.

This only works if all your photos are under the same relative condition, if not you definitely have to adjust each one manually since what's right for 1 photo is wrong for another

try DxO Optics Pro software if you did not do any custom wb before shooting. If you're using a WhiBal card, it helps you a lot during processing in PS or LR.

Thanks. finally had tried you method. I think this is the best and faster way to PP the WB of burden photos.

I do not have Whitel balance card. that the reason why i shoot in RawFile intended to adjust the W/B manually.

The purpose of a white balance card for raw shooters is that you have a quick reference for all similar images during post-processing... savings lots of time.

I have a grey card which i use for videography but haven't used it for RAW D-SLR shooting yet... and i'm often regretting not doing so.

Furthermore, shooting raw should also be for dynamic range, exposure latitude, colour information and not only WB.

I'm using Bridge (Photoshop) where you can copy & paste the develop settings.
