Over the past few years, the internet had become a common place for models, model wannabes, amateur models, part time models, freelance models to advertise their services in places like Club Snap, Model Mayhem, One Model Place, and many other photography related forums.

In Singapore, Asia, and even Australia and the US, many models are not comfortable posing nudes. We frequently see statements saying, no nudes, no semi-nudes, no implied nudes, no lingerie and no bikini. I totally respect the model's rights to choose what kind of posed to do, and more importantly, what not to do.

However, for those who said no to many genre, we frequently see nudes, semi-nudes, implied nudes, lingerie and bikini in their portfolio. Your portfolio is your comp card. You show prospective client what you are capable of doing. If you are not going to pose "in lingerie", why put a "lingerie" and anything suggesting lingerie in your portfolio. Truly bewildering!

Simple translation: "Ooi... I only pose nude nude for lots of mahhh-neeeeee$$$$$ that I can get from group shoots, nude arty-farty workshops, etc. But for the amount of mah-nee (notice the shorter spelling?) I'm getting for solo hobbyist shoots, I dun wan dun wan leh..."

Even shorter translation: No Money, No Honey... :bsmilie:

In simple terms ....

1) I have done it before (see my portfolio)
2) I won't want to do it (see my DO NOT DOs)
3) But I will do it if I need to (Show Me The Money ... )

Than k you wise sage for point me to the light. So, now, all I have to do is wave money in front fo them ... and they will strip? WOW, what a revelation.

Sad isn't it. But I really do not and cannot find a more plausible explanation.

Damn, it happened again. Met up with a model, 80% of her book is nudes/semi-nudes/lingerie/bikini/hands on breasts shots, but she on her online portfolio and told me over various emails, that she does not pose for any nudes/semi-nudes/lingerie/hands on breasts shot.

I then took the wise sage's advise, I asked how much.

She quoted me a set of rates. :dunno:

I told her I will get back to her asap. The key word is "possible".

I have read and understand what you are saying, but, I have not read a sensible reply in this thread yet.

That is also bewildering !

Maybe, people do not feel this is a serious problem.

That in itself is also bewildering.

Sex definately sales. However, there is also truth in advertising.

I will NOT work with any model who has nudes in her portfolio and "no nudes" in her profile.

I'd have to agree... Nothing ticks me off more than hypocrisy.
