holding shutter-release button for continuous shot?

is there any way to have continuous shots without holding down shutter-release button all the time? beside using timer...
 

No, you have to press all the way for continuous shots for high fps, or use the remote trigger.

and try to consolidate all your questions in a thread ;)
 

You can use a remote control and lock the button down. Why the heck do you want to do that? :dunno: After your buffer is full, you will only shoot at very slow intervals. And you also will fill up your CF/SD cards very fast.

Well for sports and other fast moving objects (eg, a horse running in a field). Take 6 rapid shots and pick the one you like.

Well how are you going to focus and pan without holding the shuter button? The way TS ask the question is not revelent to sport photography where you will most like be glued to the cam for fast reaction. I think he is trying to take something static.
