Me a newbie.

CUrrently 1, a Lowepro Inverse 100AW Beltpack (bought this yesterday). Using this for outdoors such as trips to Ubin with family, walk around cities when I travel for work.

My be getting a backpack. Will probably get it when I have the 'real' need for it. Evaluating Lowepro Rover AW or campus Daypack. I need one to carry my camera (450D, 2 lenses at the moment), laptop, 2 to 3 hard cover books, some office work files when I travel. I was thinking of 2 options:

1. Either a Lowepro Rover AW or campus DayPack
2. A targus Matrix backpack for the notebook, books and office stuff, and stuff my Inverse 100AW beltpack into the Targus (not sure if it will fit)

In two minds about this and cannot decide yet.

Tamrac Pro 12 for my normal everyday photoshoots... I pack alota stuff hehe.
Tamrac Expedition 6x - when I'm on a beach/outdoor assignment
Samsonite Laptop Backpack
Crumpler 5mil - night clubbing shoots
3 or 4 other generic camera bags from my old gear.

One bag for each camera :)
Tamrac Velo 9x is the largest one, not very big. Gotta be selective of what to bring before heading out.

Cool thread. Makes me feel like my 3 bags ain't enough. LOL !

I have a ....

1. Lowepro Computrekker : To lug 5 lenses + flash + Body + accessories + tripod + notebook + files etc etc when I travel for biz so that I can shoot some photos on my free time..... upgraded to this from my Flipside 300.

2. Lowepro Rezo 190AW : Exchanged this with another Lowepro bag with a fren. This one allows me to carry 3 lenses, a body with lens, and accessories about. Tripod goes on my hand though.....

3. Bagman C05 (or something) : Just got this a couple of days back. Shoulder style that I can sling like a messenger bag. Stores 1-2 lens + body with lens + some accessories. Smallest of my bags to allow me to walkabout. No tripod storage tho.

:D:);):thumbsup::sweatsm:

Hi Ianwurn
I was looking at Computrekker, Compuday Pack or CompuRover AW as I have a similar requirement as you. I want to bring my camera 450D with kit lens attached, 55-250 zoom, notebook, one book to read and three A4 files for work when I travel for biz. I was afraid it wouldn't hold all this. Looks like Computrekker can do the job.

Regards
Bernard

Heya Bernard,

One thing to note, the Computrekker AW does not have a dedicated section for files etc. My12.1" notebook went into the notebook section; 1 body, 5 lenses, 1 flash, 4 cokin P filters, 1 adapter ring set holder hood, blower all went into the centre section; files went together into the centre section as well but I have a thin selection of A4 L folders only; passport, iPod shuffle, wires, cables, USB memories, assorted items etc went to the front section. Total weight : 9.7kg. Could be quite a weight to lug around.....

I'm no expert on bags, but the 3 x A4 files you mentioned might find it difficult to get in there..... ha....;p

The good part is that if you have only one extra lens to put in, the rest of the area could be customised to fit some other of your stuff. The CompuDaypak might fit in your present gear, but as soon as you get more lenses and gear, you'd be sorely tempted to change again.....

Oh, yes, do go TK Photo to take a look. Their selection is by far the largest I have seen on Lowepro. Prices are pretty good too. :)

Happy searching ya.

Update

Finally decided on the carry-on bag and bought the Lowepro Compurover AW. Did a lot of research and determined that the middle compartment of the Compurover is what I needed for my books. It allows me to carry my camera equipment, books and laptop when I travel for work and have my Inverse 100AW folded in my luggage. I can use my Inverse 100 AW when I walk around the city and leave the Compurover in the hotel room.

I have 2 bags. A Crumpler 7 Million Dollar and a LowePro Nova 3. Both have served me well.

I have only one bag : Billingham Hadley Original...
Built for abuse...

3 bags:

1 computrekker aw - to squeeze 2 bodies (with grips in future), a 70-200 f2.8 (future purchase), a 18-70 kit lens (to be replaced with a UWA lens in future), a 24-70mm F2.8 lens, a 70-300 lens, flash, a pack of 4 AAs, lambency with white dome, three color domes <all in centre camera section>, 3 x camera batteries, 2 x packs of 4 AAs <accessories section>, laptop / files <laptop section>, 1 x camera battery charger, 1 x AA battery charger, 1 x rocket blower, raincoat x 2, lens cloth <in front pocket>, tripod
[good when i wanna bring all my present and future gears out.....]

1 urban active bag - to squeeze 1 body with grip and 1 lens in camera section, flash and another lens in the bag section
[good when i need minimal gears]

1 offtrail - to hold 1 A100 body with kit lens
[good when i need less than minimal gears....in fact seldom used it liao...]

I have one only :(

Lowepro Rezo 190

3. My latest addition. This is a belt-based carrying bag. A Craftman's tool-belt with 2 Samsonite pouches. Very useful for carrying my CP995 around for hiking and outdoor trips. I can add more pouches if necessary and can even add a shoulder harness if the weight gets too much and make it like a SBO!
