The most irritating thing that I've encountered are people who stand right smack in the centre on the escalator. Then when you say excuse and ask them to give way, they give you that dirty look of annoyance.

at least they're not using it as a stripper pole :bsmilie:

Yesterday on the MRT to Serangoon I saw this: :bsmilie:

It's the Singapore's inbred culture .... blame our ga-ment for their policies :dunno:

kiasu & kiasi

One of the worst habits is when the model sms you late at night that she cannot make it to the photoshoot, the following morning, for some ridiculous reason! :dunno:

we (speaking in general) r ultimately responsible for it, isn' it? eg, 1 person littering is not big issue, multiply manyfolds the problem will snowball till finally some1 (cleaners) pick up the tab. :thumbsd:

u forgot: "bo-chap" ler. the "it's not my problem attitude".

A lot of you are complaining about the result. But where were you when they did the survey? :sticktong

that "complaining" is a habit itself. we can't change we're doomed, save yourself! run or fly, you still got hope (The Legend?)!! :bsmilie:

I guess I need to see the clip before deciding, but jaywalking is the worst bad habit??

I'd go for littering. Hardly unique to Singapore, but a shame considering that we have a reputation as a very clean city. Every time I hear that, I explain that this is due to the hardworking cleaners and partly the punishment, not the people.

How about : bad grammar? :bsmilie: No offense meant, said in fun, my apologies if any taken.

No problem.. my angmo is not very good also......

Many of my foreigner friends told me SG is a very clean country and people easy get fine for littering.
Since like the impression given to them is SG is a FINE, LAW and ORDER country.
they are so worries of going to SG and get fine.. cos there is too many laws and they dont know what to look for too....

Smoking on the street is BAD..!!!!

Last year, a friend visited me in SG.
We was walking and sightseeing at orchard road, he asked he wanted to smoke on the street and is there a smoking corner....I told him there is no such smoking corner.
And he walk to the street corner (where there is no people there) started smoking and carried a ash bag.

I was so impress to see that..!!!
In SG people smoke and walk on the street and throw the ash on the floor or walkway...
and those people or kids walking beside and behid him or her is taking 2nd hand cigarette too...

In japan there is a smoking corner for smoker.
So they cant smoke anywhere they like.
I think is very good to have that.....

Wow, I'm impressed too! I'm disgusted by smokers who think the world is their ashtray, but I've never seen anyone carry an ash bag. Where's your friend from?

Over here, those who smoke usually do it when they're outside a building, near a trash bin. Office buildings usually set out one for the addicts.

I can think of a billion bad habits of Singaporeans but the top of the list is still none other than................the statement below.

"They just love to complain about anything under the big blue sky"

"...and rue
the day too
if the sky isn't blue..."

:bsmilie:

why do locals  to complain?

i  to ask...

why do locals  to complain?

i  to ask...

Maybe it's a widespread unconscious public expression of helplessness?
After all, if I could just get up roll up my sleeves and confidently solve a problem, why waste time complaining?
