Nikon Asia withdraws Invitation for camera launch

For those who are not able to attend the official launch dun need to be disappointed...everyone makes mistake so be forgiving.
I'm sure if u make a mistake u wish others can be forgiving too right?

basically the event is just sitting down and listening to the presentation of the new products
why get upset if you're not invited? why not go for the informal session on 25th Jul instead at Millennia Walk Burger King at 6.30
less crowd, everyone can chit chat, eat dinner, make friends and molest the camera there too.

That is wat the coffee session is for...so that those who missed out...don't need to make do with the wat asia canon club.

Nope, invitation are not sending to NPS members, for what I know, not even all professionals are invited.

I don't recall I receive any mails from Nikon, except ask me to renew my NPS membership, btw, now the NPS has tighten up the qualification requirement for their members.

yeah, it is something new that is a whole new standard for Nikon internationally.

can't say i am pleased with it but rather amused.

i think they really underestimated the response.

nikon has a huge growing user base in S'pore and the next flagship camera launch, let us hope they will have more seats available.:thumbsup:

i still think that Nikon S'pore should first and foremost place their NPS members at the forefront of such future launch for their Professional range of DSLR and send out their invitations to NPS members.

perhaps they can have 2 launch dates, one to cater for the masses, the other for the NPS members only.

Nikon will do well to rectify this error and let's hope the next official professional grade DSLR launch in Singapore will not be such a disaster.

as with any event, arount 50% of invitees will not be able to make it
so IMHO i an quite sure the companies will invite more than the seating capacity of the venue

In order to be a member of NPS (Singapore), you will have to meet the following criteria.

A working full time photographer who owned a registered photography related business in Singapore.

OR

An official photographer working in a registered business in Singapore

An authorization letter (printed on a registered company letter head) indicating that the applicant is the official photographer attached to the company is required.


Owned 2 professional bodies (D200, D300, D2 Series, D3 Series) and 3 Nikkor Lenses.

Only registered cameras, lenses and accessories will be entitled to benefits of NPS

Actually, so many none professionals own better than these, and anyone can register a company just for $65.

but that is the new standard from Nikon. even Nikon USA endorses it. i guess it is a major shake-up.
