Expodisc anyone tried for Pentax custom WB???
Yes, I heard of this but I remember few months ago I saw one thread that CS member suggested DIY home-made ExpoDisc by buying transparency mat (for use on floor above computer table) from IKEA.
Then cut into small square (close to size 77mm) and attach white paper. I was very surprised they worked bit ok almost as Expodisc. Sorry, I cannot find thread as it was long ago.
U can try your own DIY and test it yourself. Good luck
Does the transluscent mat you use on the fridge floor works by attaching white papaer to it.

I find that mat quite useful for diffuser also. Just made a macro diffuser with it, even when u bounced direct flash onto it, it'll help soften the light.

i JUST diy mine cannot focus when place close to the len. doesn't work that well
Mine made of mat transparent and shower curtain as white paper.
I tried again it work quite well, but not putting on the len but about an arm len distance to at the subject that enbale focusing rather than covering the len.
My DIY expodisc cannot be seem thro. how about yours.
Hi Woosin and Longko, do you both to the same any issues with your DIY ...
Thanks for your inputs.
Sorry, I can't get the last part. Do you mind explaining the exact buttons to use? Thanks.This is how u use it;
1. Get ready your camera (if u need to use flash or set other settings do so)
Edit: Will be gd if it's Av mode, f4-6.3
2. Switch to MF
3. Goto custom WB setting
4. Point the camera to the location which u wanna shot
Edit: 4.5 Placed the DIY WB disc covering the lens.
5. Just press capture and set the WB based on center.
That's all. Remember to switch back to AF

I have tried my DIY expodisc, unnsually good white-balance, tested here are the three shots, manual len, but still I am not sure what/which is a correct WB, I think I prefer best white balance than correct WB. Perhaps the correct WB with original expodisc could be better, but I have never try it.

Hi longko & Woosin,
Thanks for all your wise technical understanding, so it still works being out of focus.
Thank you all,
I am learning so much from these inputs, having used my K100D for the past three years it is still a discover.

Having been advised that it was close to the real thing, I made little post processing to the warmer side.
So I next question was what is the exact tentancy to cause the WB incline to the Warmer and Cooler temperature, so we could further improvish the accuracy with fine-tuning WB cap.
I do test these w/o much thinking, but only guesses from Clubsnaper inputs.
