Freelance Model Thoughts on Photography

when someone ask me to shoot with passion, the real meaning is ask me to shoot for free or dirt cheap.

the goal of commerical photog, just like advertising, is to sell your product. Creativity comes second place as long the message to sell or remind is effective enough to get the point across to the targeted audience. The entire mise-en-scen within a commerical shot/ad is carefully choreographed to get the product or brand maximum exposure or to direct the viewer's eye towards said item. One can be as creative as they want but in this field it comes 2nd place towards the goal of selling. Why else do you think that everything needs to be approved by the creative director and the clients? There's a very good reason why there are only few truly out there creative ads, mainly because if the audience cannot tell what the hell your message is, then wouldn't the $$$ you spent on creating the ad be wasted?
I see an interesting mixture of people here.
Question: "So you do photography for passion?"
Photographer A: " No, i do it for money. Passion = Money. "
Photographer B: "Yes, i would strave just to take photos."
Photographer C: "Its my passion, but i got to dam earn a living too!"

i think its more to do with prehaps that she is feeling stifled and unable to undertake the concepts she would like to see or execute in her line of work.
Any good and experienced commerical photog will tell you that most of the time they do commerical photog to pay the bills so they have the resources to pursue and do the concept stuff that they want. But they try to express themselves within their own work within the boundaries that the field places on them but only have free reign when it is their own concept that they are pursuing.

At the end of the day, photographer B will not be shooting for a long time, and may never be able to fulfill the dreams. Starving led to death, kind of hard to shoot when dead.
Personally, I identify with Photographer C. Hence, I have a day job.
that's nothing wrong with that, if somebody can feed the photographers, like daddy or mummy, sugar or real one, else you have to take to dead people about "pure" passion for photography.

no $, no camera, passion for photography only happens when you are sleeping.

What am I to assume what you are writing? Do you and I have the same assumptions for the words you use? Or shall I take it that what you wrote and what you meant may be totally different because the intended meaning of words, as you seem to suggest, may not be what they originally intended?
Isn't that anarchy? But of course, to you there is no anarchy, because words can mean anything you decide they should mean?
Perhaps you should not write at all because you appear to have unrestricted definitions of commonly used words. And because your intended undeerstanding of words is so unrestricted, how is anyone to understand what you meant by what you wrote? And therefore are you not wasting your time?
it doesnt mean people who put priority on getting food on table has no artistical talents what...

I really do not see the threadstarter "trying to reshape the world of photography". Where did you get that impression?
All she wanted to do was to make photographs for herself which are not commercially motivated. Is that wrong? Does she have to give that up?
If she has no clue how commercial photography works, would it not be nice in a community like this for you (I assume you are a commercial photographer - since you gave the impression that you do have some clue how commercial photography works) to try to share what she was misguided, as alleged by someone else?

They do, in fact there are many talented commercial photographers out there, but don't they feel limited by their client needs instead of theirs?
they've all learned to work within the box and scratch their creative needs in their own outside projects. Something you should do well to note and learn from instead of getting defensive with people here.
