I see some photographers are quite good at giving instructions - turn ur head a bit more to the left, look down a bit...no, no, too much already. left arm on ur hip...open more (demonstrates on himself). Then, I say to myself..wah, not bad at all!
actually I dont understand why is there even such a discussion?? Its work and we the people behind the camera know it and the models know it. When I film a commercial and the director needs us to move the talents to fit the camera's angle. We simply tell the models to shift, if they really cannot follow instructions, we will go behind them. And we let them know "sorry we need to move your position, relax and follow my guide" We then place our hands on their shoulders and move it according to what the director wants. Of course for us at any one time there is at least 10 over people on set so there is no danger of any misunderstanding of hanky panky. I am sure if you are polite and you ask and of course you dont let your hands wander all over the place and most impt of all, you have a third party in the studio with you, there shouldnt be any problems.
if u behave professionally, the model wouldn't doubt u if she is professional as well. if u look lecherous when u instructing, u can be sexually harassing with words and looks alone.
When in doubt...ask ur assistant to do it. Let him take e fall. lolx

I have heard of model telling me that she got scolded because of her pose.
Respect them by not treating them like slave - dun scold them, give them rest, give their eye rest from the flashlight, buy them drink.

Hmmmm I think if one is really doing a shoot, there shouldnt be anyone who needs to take any fall.... Forgive me for saying but is the recent rise of photography due to anyone wielding a DSLR automatically calling him or herself a photographer and the spate of photo taking sessions with headings like "Sexy lingere shoot, bikini, red hot model" increasing the problem of misconduct during shoots cos in the first place we have not photographers but a bunch of voyeurs and sexually motivated individuals? Honestly in our professional circles such a topic is not even discussed as there is no need to hence such a thread really makes one wonder and laugh..... what on earth are "photographers" really thinking about during "hot lingere shoots"

Ok... We have a bunch of people who cannot shoot and goes around wielding a DSLR and call themselves a Photographer (Myself included) ... We have a bunch of Overnight turned models (Who doesn't know how to take instructions and cannot pose only comes with a maybe cannot make it face). So what next?

the really pro models will change and strike different poses each time she hears a shutter is activated or when she sees a flashlight going off.
most times if there's a need, jus direct the model where to stand and how to stand. there's no need for physical contact.
after the shoot is done, exchange words of gratitude. :thumbsup:
