Hi... first time posting in this section

Taken in the morning in punggol

I am trying to shoot a cooling effect type of landscape ,
would like critics and comments on how to improve my shot.

Bad : some cranes in the tree lines makes it a bit unreal...

I like it, it will look better if you crop away the bottom third of the photo. and either crop away or PS away the crane.

Perhaps if the next time you see this view again, you could try going in much much closer. I think this shot would be a nice shot if you went right up close to it, as mentioned by pcwe68. the bottom area not really helping e photo as a whole.

shoot at ground level
shoot with WA
find point of interest

currently, too much almost white sky
too much flat green grass

only the center portion has some interesting things there
also make sure have nice backlight from the rising sun

i see this scene daily on my way to work

I beg to differ, I will go up a HDB block and use a zoom lens.

i used a zoom but cannot really capture the whole thing in....

if nv zoom , the hdb or LRT tracks will be in.... maybe LRT can be part of the shot?

which block you climb up to. try blk 160, sometime I will just watch the sunrise.

Dont be too greedy to include everything.
Ortega is right, too much grass and sky.

Otherwise, Catchlight's suggestion of a pano crop is good too.

if you have anchor it with pagoda, chinese temple, etc.
to my knowledge, there isn't any otherwise punggol can
looks like china.....

just my thoughts.
