Is Windows Vista compatable with most softwares? How different/good compare to Windows XP?

Hi dharma - Windows Vista is compatible with most applications.

Are there any applications in particular you're wondering about?

What about Cs2? got that one about a year before Windows Visa came out

I think should be ok.... if not, u can always get CS3 which i tink should most likely to be compatible :p

anyway, it think you can check out the adobe website ba?

it works properly if your vista installation is done properly

Vista should be compatible with almost all windows software, except for those which include OS specific hardware drivers.

Also, you might want to check carefully before jumping in; a lot hardware drivers may be missing, especially hardware from smaller and more obscure companies. i had to buy a new TV card when i upgraded from 98 to XP, coz there were no drivers for the old card.

I have Cs2 and upgraded version of Cs3. The Cs2 is the xp version.. so you think is ok?

First problem, I've got is my modem cannot be used to dial up, till I called the helpdesk.
Next is the Mcafee cannot be installed, need new version. Then my CS2 cannot be installed correctly. Then the colour profile thingy got problematic, and etc. Activesync will not work. Acrobat 5 also cannot. Ha ha. But I'm still using it. :bsmilie:

One more thing. My PCI express graphics card, buy not long ago cannot support the Aeroglass.

Modern OS should be easy to install so most likely all users should have done it properly. Am I right? I am assuming Windows will auto everything (from auto detect to auto configure) as I'm not a Windows person.

Vista does not work with Activesync...it uses Windows Mobile Device Center, and it works fine for my 2yr old smartphone and donkey years old PDA... gave up on McAfee and Norton... going with AVG free now and works fine with Vista 64 :)

that's odd... considering my 3+ yr old 6600GT works fine with Aeroglass even with Vista's graphics drivers and actually gets a 4.7 rating... try updating your drivers?

That's very good rating....my FX5700 only has a 3.0 rating. Time to upgrade

was quite surprized at the reasonably good rating actually... anyway for Vista OS requirements good rating and no complains, but not really that great for games any more (not that I have time to play)... I'm waiting for Nvidia 8800 GTS to have HDMI support or maybe get ATi 2900 GT...:D
