hmm... just like to share, for simple product shots I used a light cube and 3x40W work lights. Normally I shot during night time, where i switch off the room light. Attached is a setup I did on my table (small area...)

Hi totoro17,

Look at the picture carefully. He's using a prosumer camera, not a DSLR. Light tent is not from ikea, you can get it from PQ23 or syketang or Perly Inc. You can find them in MO forum here and for perly, youcan do search on google, you can find his estore.

E lights can b brought at Ikea. $3.95 each. ;)

 is the S$3.95 offer back again??? I went ikea two weeks ago, no more offer and went back to normal price S$7.90...

Just call ikea customer service... They say the special offer S$3.95 light stock no more and discontinue. So now back to normal S$7.90

its call KVART wall_clamp spotlight, however you will not find this light on ikea sg. You can have a look at how it looks at ikea us and china... as mention maximum is 40w only.

Note: For the setup that I used, works well with small light tents (50-36cm). For the larger ones it may not be powerful enough...

My friend tried using three 40W on his large light tent (98cm), he told me its not powerful enough...

Wowo, thanks. that was really helpful and hte pictures too.

Can tell me the exact light that you bought so only 40 watts enough? and the lamp you bought? I thgt need at least 100 watts? I also want to try to get and experiment. What if you shoot in the day and on the lights is it better?

In case it helps, I just bought the halogen bulb rated at 150 Watts at $7.90 from Ikea. Its been around for some time, great for product shoot

I got my 40cm light tent liao. For lighting, I gave up and order PQ23's mini studio lighting kit. :p Will post once I set it up. Now looking for a high reflective black platform for mirror-like reflections.
