3 months old MITSHIBISHI inverter aircon broke down twice in one months!!!!

Any one else got this kind of experience??

How come broke down so often? Twice in a month. and it's only 3 months old!!

I tot mitshubishi good brand.

Install by gain city some more.

Sound like really problem matic product. Regret choosing Mits.

Is Gain City supposed to be world renowned aircon specialist?

It is not.

My Panasonic aircons were installed about 10 years ago by an ordinary shop and have never malfunctioned since day one.

its an inverter problem

my national aircon was replaced after 13years of service cause the compressor having noise already.

Your air-con is from MITSHIBISHI Electric or MITSHIBISHI Heavy Industry? Don't get them mixed up, both got inverter but quality is different.

It might be Gain City. My wife's colleague also bought a new air con from Gain City but it already have some problem even before she moved in the new flat. They demanded a change but Gain City refused and only offered to repair.

it's MITSUBISHI Electric. Oh my god and to think we spent more money getting Gain city. Isisaxon, is the problem huge for your wifes colleague? Is it the same brand also?

Emm.. Sharp is the most lasting brand for Air-Con now.

Perhaps you can provide us in specifically what broke down?

e.g.
i. cannot power up
ii. not cold
iii. water leakage

when the aircon is on, any one of the 4 aircon unit, the unit will blink. nothing happen.

The same happen last time. The technician told us that it is a power PCB fault. And this time it's the same thing happen. Exactly same symptom.

It's so frustrating as both happen on saturday, so we have to wait for two days before any assistance to be given to us.

I'm using the Mitsubishi Starmex. It has been almost 6mths since I installed and so far so good. As my family hardly turns on the aircon (i.e. probably 1 to 2 hours on certain nights), the savings are not substantial in comparison to the invertor unit.

One of the main reason for not going to the big boys is because most of them outsourced the installation part. How they going about doing it, its the cheapest that get the job. To make up for the low profit, some can even install up to 3 household in a day, to earn on quantity. Such jobs are usually done in a huff.

I've had friends whom have installed Mitsubishi aircon as well as so far, no major known problems. Perhaps you have got a lemon copy or either that, the problem lies with the installer. If he did mentioned problem with the PCB, did he have them replaced previously?

And seriously, I'm thinking the probability of the threadstarter having a fake brand since the airconditioner brand's known as "Mitsubishi" and not "Mitshibishi".
