"Hi xxxxx,

Happy New Year!

Have you arrange for the payments below? It has been long overdue. (past 3 new years actually, the New Year 2007, the Muslim New Year and the Chinese New Year)

Waiting for your immediate actions. (or do you prefer a pig head at your office door..... ok ok.. i did not add the "pig head" portion )

Thank you.

Razor"

At least 3 event companies owe me money for works done last year..

i'm just letting off my frustration ;(

bro, so jiat liat ar....now for event companies, i tend to ask for either 50% or full payment prior to shoot....

sigh...

Just a tip, dont let it go past 1 year else Small Claims will no longer be open to you.

Hope everything will be fine soon for razor~ :)

3 years? Where did you get that idea from?

i thought 3 years already? hahaha.

ok on a serious note, for me, I will ask for a deposit of 50%.

i believe it's from the first post:)

I think you should start writing former email, dictating the details of the event and how much the company owe you, as records, so that you could get some response from them in B&W. This will help you to go ahead and take other actions as needed in future, should the company don't pay you. Presumne you are free lance. Would you be able to send them a official invoice to inform them of the due payment, so that they cannot say that they did not receive it, and delay/ignore paying you.

Update them with a periodic statement of outstanding amount. (so they can't feign ignorance)
Do you have your payment terms stated clearly? If you don't make it clear, companies will tend to sit on it.
Why are you not charging interest on the outstanding amount? Bill them.
Your email has no teeth. Write to ask them to settle by a definite due date, failing which advise them that you have no recourse but to make a claim with Small Claims Court.
This ought to get them to sit up and take notice.

I've chased debts before. There are those who pay, those who don't pay. Those who don't pay will never pay. Those who will pay but have not paid yet, just drop them a call everyday until they get fed up and pay.

add interest lor.....every week add 10%.... :)

i am now chasing this event company 3x a day, a bit like taking medicine...hahaha..

then again, if they really refuse to pay, what can we do?? any advise?

heng i took 50% of payment on day of shoot.

dun talk about event companies, even f/t photographers sometimes siam payment for 2nd photographer. very clever act blur one! can pretend like never see u even when u're right in front of them!!

Asking a man pay another man can be really difficult.
Asking a man pay a desirable woman can be quite easy.

Event company is better than getting involved with a bad individual with no name. At least the address is there for the company.
