makes me wonder if i can do the same for my frogeye...

where did u get the door peephole from? .. is it available locally?

i've received this zenit 180' door peephole that came with my lca+ too...

yes it's available locally! u know those HDB heartland shops tt sell stuff like screwdrivers, audio cables, laser pointers, hangers, scrubs, batteries, hammers, door locks, and all sorts of other household stuff.

i wanted to buy from the hardware shop at junction 8 but apparently it had closed down. so i tried the HDB area and found this shop. at first i only saw door latches and door stoppers, no peepholes. on my way out of the show the peepholes somehow caught my eye.

there's silver, bronze and gold peepholes. obviously i chose the silver one.

do you think you can insert the peephole onto a holga ? cos if i can be done it will save alot instead of getting a fish eye adaptor..

ya man i think you should do it since that's also a way of lomo.

i'm just a noob..

would be interesting if it's on a frogeye. but I think a holga would be easier and cheaper.

i would prefer this done on a film camera. Guess the challenge is to get the right exposure, dof, etc.. rather then viewing it on the lcd. An interesting experiment nonetheless. :)

Oh, and yeah.. "the thrill of waiting for your photos to develop" (Quoted by thycursed ;))after an experiment like that is definitely wat i like best.

anyway my friend jim gave me a idea.

since you are using a DC or DSLR why waste your effort mounting and spending $ on a peephole when you can just simply photoshop them? i think it would be better that way..

hahahhaahahaa..

i'm just a noob..

shall write a short how-to abt this project.

1) You need a 35mm film canister, peep hole, scissors and a thumbtack
p1120549qb5.jpg

2) Unscrew the peephole so you get two pieces. One threaded piece and one cylinder.
p1120554bc6.jpg

3) Make a round hole on the bottom of the film canister. Try to make it just the size of the threaded part, slightly smaller than the fatter unthreaded part. If done right, the peephole should pop into place and you don't have to glue it down. If you made too big a hole, just glue the peephole onto the canister then.
p1120551hf8.jpg

4) Screw the cylinder back onto the peephole backwards such that the canister is 'sandwiched' so it won't accidentally fall off if you didn't glue it down.
p1120552hi0.jpg

5) I put some electrical tape on the inside of the canister so it would make a snug fit with my lens barrel. If the lens barrel is smaller, you could improvise with blue tack or even more electrical tape until you get the right fit.

6) Zoom in until the circle takes up the largest possible area of the photo. You might need to switch to macro mode for proper focussing.

wah you very smart hor!! like to DIY!! LOL!! good job!!

keep on digilomo!

i'm just a noob..

true that the wait and the unpredictable outcome of holgas and lomos etc cannot really be obtained from a digital camera. but of course, you could switch off the LCD and don't view the pictures for a couple of days. after all, developing film can cost a lot in the long run so this could be an interesting side interest.

IamJeFfy: yes you can PS the effect of a fisheye lens using some filter. but the effect is really different.. the fisheye lens can capture a larger field of view than a normal lens. PSing a normal photograph is not going to get u the extra field of view, unless you stitch photos together and then PS it. which doesn't really make much sense.

besides it only cost $3.50 and a little under 10 minutes to complete. and i really don't have anywhere else to post this, lomography seems the most appropriate. but of course if you don't think this is true lomography, just take it as a mod tt u can do to any camera, film or otherwise. cheers!

oh sorry i'm just a noob and i thought PS could do more than that..... hahahahahaa! yaya maybe you are right and keep up on your good work!

i just found it weird how come 'Lomography' in this forum isn't the same as 'Lomography' i found on other forums. just curious cus .....

i'm just a noob..

well if someone has a holga to spare me i'm sure i could work something out! hahaha.

why? it cost less than a hundred for a brand new one. i'm sure that cost less than a DC or maybe ..... a pair of nike dunk... hehehehhehe..

i'm just a noob..

very very very innovative!! thanks for sharing!

darrrrr i think i will pass dude i m too broke to get another holga if any thing goes wrong maybe next time when i am earning big bucks.. haha btw tt was a great idea using the peephole.. very creative..
