Did you use exactly the same settings as on the website? If not, mind sharing the settings?

yups exact same settings down to the curves settings even. ;p

for the 2nd pic, i had to do a bit of masking to the tower to make the church tower seem more real. Otherwise the top of the tower will be blurred which logically shouldn't be because it's at the same distance as the other parts of the church. :D

Nice.. Tks.. Maybe it's my choice of photos then, mine don't look very fake :)

 SHC outing? ;p

i think it might be the angle of the shot. if you were to shoot some 'toys' normally you'll be shooting down at a 30-45deg angle. I'm not too sure because it's also my first time trying these out.

You from SHC also ah? What your nick?

Yes, could be the angle.. Will try other shots :)

maybe it'll be good to start a new thread to share these 'fake model' PS photos?

was searching for something and dug this thread out. interesting technique!

my try, night scenes works too. Always top to bottom shots works best it seems.

I did some just last month as a background for a presentation in school. I did it this way...

1) Use rectangular marquee and feather the selection depending on the size of the picture. select the area that you want to be in focus.

2) Select inverse

3) deselect

4) throw up the contrast and brightness ( No curves needed ) Makes grass look more plastic

5) Done!

how i wish i can do it with PS 7.0
been trying since 1am but no good results yet :(
at this rate no need to sleep liao haha

Actually, these pictures are achieved using the tilt feature of the lenses rather than the shift feature. I think I've seen some lens that is for tilt only, so they might be cheaper alternatives if anyone is interested. Also, in theory, some lenses used in traditional darkroom enlargers can be used too (you probably have to find a mount adaptor though). I'm trying to get my hand on a TS-E 45mm lenses myself to try this out.

i noticed there are 3 ppl fighting seh :D :D

both right on above picture.... nice :D :D
