just bought the Olympus SP-320 at sim lim. a friend of mine, a professional photographer, recommended it after we test printed a few photos taken from different cameras. it was totally not what i had in mind when i set about to purchase a camera, and thus tried to look for more info on it online. however, when i went to the Cnet website, it claimed the model to be cancelled. i could not find this model in the official Olympus singapore website either, only managing to seek it out on the american one.
thought if anybody have more info about the camera, anything at all, could help me out here. i'm worried that i didn't get a very good camera, as my interest for photography is gererating and i don't want to get off on a bad start.

A camera is only as good as the photographer, don't worry, learn to use it well and it should reward you with great pics. The SP-320 has great picture quality and the manual functions are comprehensive for a P&S so it should serve well for learning more about photography. Note that like all cameras with full manual functions, you need to explore the settings and it is only when you got it 'dialled in' that you will start to get the images you like.

I just thought that you should have got the SP-350, which has a useful flash hotshoe. The SP-320 has more updated electronics though and is the faster camera.

Problem is the SP-350 is virtually hard to find in SG at a reasonable price.

SP-320 replaces 310 and funny how some shops sell the newer model at a lower price

Not true, many SP-350 can be bought at dirt cheap prices from auction sites due to Starhub giving it out free. ;)

dun worry sp-320 is decent. btw if u dun mind spending, get the wads tat battery the crv3 battery izzit? the non rechargeble one. Gives VERY long battery life if u want to use it without changing battery.

What I meant was trying to buy it from shops. Yeah there are a number of private sellers who got it from Starhub.

IMHO its a good camera. I use the 2700AmH batteries and they last pretty long on my SP-350.
