Suggest: LIST of places where film devp, scanning and printing is offered

Grace does it at 3$ a roll (develop only for both 135 and 120) the cheapest and nearly the best I have found so far.

35mm on Bukit Timah does it for around 4$ if I'm not wrong. that price is valid if you don't print or scan. If you do either of them, they reduce the price.

but my experience with grace is they dont really handle our negatives with care. They always scratch my negatives due to improper handling. Though they are cheap and speedy, okay for hobbyist.

now, i always send to fotohub.. more ex of course $5 + gst. but i guess its well worth the $, they handle the neg well... but a warning to all who wants to send their BnW roll for them to develop, my friends negs have developing marks on them, and usually they wont admit to their mistakes. I have seen the negs, it should be because not enough developer, hence developing marks.. so thats my user feedback.

Yea they do have that on off problem. Maybe talking to them can help? Simon is quite a nice guy :)

heard fotohub is the best developer hence justifying the high cost...I will probably send in my next roll of slide to fotohub just to try it out...so far been using Triple D and Kim Tian...:)

Triple D- 35mm scan to Cd at S$5?

Hmm, why was I charged S$7 last week?

did u develop your film there? normally develop + scan = $3 + $5 for color negs. :)

Thanks for the input guys!

Please be sure to indicate size and type of materials when you feedback can? e.g., can use this format. Try to get as much info as possible if not too much trouble. Ask the Owners/Mgt. I'm sure many of them would be happy to provide you a list if you tell them you're going to post up the info on Singapore's largest photography forum.

I know it's a long list , but you dont have to gather all the info. ;)
This is only a guide of what info would be ideal. :)

Please feel free to offer feedbck on the format bnelow. ;)

Is there a difference between the different fotohub outlets for film processing? or they do it at a central location ?? wanna to go KT or triple but not too convenience for me...

i usually go to the owe at bugis. not sure about the other branches. They are very quick in processing, send in by 12pm, can get it about 2pm+.. very fast.. i like.. haha..

I just develop & scan my 135 negative film at Ruby.
For S$12.85 (include GST) i thought i got Hi-Resolution scan file, instead i just got 1840x1230pixel (72dpi) jpeg files.

How to print with 72dpi???
And the jpeg files is highly compressed (only 400KB-700KB) :thumbsd:

Ruby's service looks like it's $12 for Devp and one CD of low-res 'Catalog' jpegs.

I generally hear that hi-res scanning alone costs $14 and more.

Fee Fee also offers B&W Devp and Contact prints.

120 Devp alone - $6
120 Devp + Contact Print - 14

Anyways, the info in this thread is kinda messy at the moment, with Coolsigg offering the most organised info, but many thanks for all who contributed. :)

Would be great if more info comes in.

Please try to get some info the next time you go and buy film, pass by the shops or devp your films.

Thanks for the effort, good reference

Thanks for the encouragement Clubgrit.

I'm sorry I missed your post earlier.

Still a bit difficult to compile cos very little info or updated info at the moment.

This thread has 990 views and only less than a handful of contributors.

Hey, I just saw some of your work in the Med Format Photos threads. You've got some nice shots there! ;)

Hmm interesting, maybe I should give them a visit. Didn't know this

Looks like Cathay is $1 cheaper than konota for 120mm slide process only.
Will drop konota and check out Cathay.

Cathay offers E-6 120 format processing?

I thought that all e-6 in SG went to Fotohub?

hmm ya... all slides in Singapore sent to Fotohub in bugis for dev...
they are quite good at it..

So far I've only sent 2 rolls of film for developing at Konota (Penninsular Plaza) and it was $6 per roll for B&W film.

Shall keep an eye on this thread and contribute as much as I can. =)

Thanks Unseenshadows!

Let's keep this thread as updated as we can for the benefit of anyone still shooting film.

As for meself, I've gone to the 'dark sia' ... the darkROOM side that is.

After reading about all the QC issues with commercial developing and scanning services, I decided to soup B&W myself. Besides much tighter QC, I also get the latitude and opportunity to use different chemistry and devp temp/times to get different results.

Unfortunately, I don't have the means or space to get and maintain a complete E6 processing set, so I'll just do B&W. I also decided to go the whole hog and do scanning myself. I can now scan up to 48-bit colour/4,800 dpi native and materials up to 8"x10" on an old but fairly well-regarded flatbed.

120 HP5 pushed slightly and souped in Perceptol, scanned in 24-bit colour, med res. 1st attempt at using the Zone Sytem.

If anyone really needs help developing B&W or scanning shoot me a PM.

Okay I've located marine hawaii photo. It's found at Blk 58 Marine Terrace #01-51

From what the uncle at the shop told me, they do C-41 processing only, which is $4 per roll. Scanning is an additional $12, but I didn't ask for the resolution. Processing is done in-house and with C-41 you can get your film back on the same day.
