Did my very virgin Studio shoot with Ivan.
My, this Ivan is fantastic, man.
He encouraged both myself and SereneXMM so much that we almost lost ourselves and almost embraced Zoey, a very stunning model!

I followed the PS tutorial and tried to "airbrush the skin" to smoothen it.
But ended up with Zoey looking like NTUC plastic bag. Sigh...
Definitely need guidance from everyone of you.

#1 (PP finally done after receiving all the helpful advice from CSers on this thread. The underwear line was removed and her abdominal area smoothened.)

#2

#3. This one I tried so hard to smoothen her skin. In the end I gave up and decided to present her the way she truly is.
(Remark: PP-ed version found at the end of the thread...)

Very grateful to you all for viewing my humble thread. This is far from good. But it's my first try, nonetheless.
And I would be most grateful to all you kind ladies and gentlemen for all your comments.

think u can look up how to touch up skin on youtube. there are great books in the library to read up as well. then experiment with the different tools on ps.

i did a beauty shoot with zoe last weekend and her skin is easier to touch up than some of the models i worked with.

Hello, flipfreak.
It is very reassuring to hear that from you. You are right. I have to keep trying and I will certainly go up to youtube to check it out. Thank you so much!

I would recommend a software called "Portraiture" from imagenomic. It would save a lot of time in correcting skin tone.

Hello, Anson. This is the first time I am hearing about this imagenomic.
I am going to check up on it right away.
Thank you so much!

I second that for the portraiture plugin. It's quite easy to use if you do not wish to do much heavy pp on skin manually.
Keep shooting :)

Anymore pics for #4? I kind of like the use of that colored backgrd.

Hi, kel77.
Wah you also use that imagenomics plugin?
I just went up to its website and found that it costs US$199.50.
Goodness, I got to re-plan my next few Ivan's sessions to buy this... hahaha...
The red BG was the third set of her attire. As this was my first time doing studio, I find the rest of the shoots not really that 'can-see-the-light-one'. Haha....
Hey, really thanks for coming onto my thread and giving me the encouragement.

Nice model and great shots, except the model's pantie line and bra are visible with the clothing that she is wearing in the first pic. May be she should wear something else.

embrace = hug? :think::think::think:

#4 is nice, although I find the framing a little too tight.

two200, thank you so much for your thumbsup! I pretend pretend only. Don't know how to shoot also pretend to shoot. But truly, it's a great Studio set up by the organiser and a most beautiful model that I was lucky to have.

lightning, thank you for generous comment! Yes, now that you have pointed it out, I really should have NTUC plastic-bagged it away.. Haha...

ziploc, yes - embrace almost equals to hug. But cannot lah, people professional model mah.
Hehe... yes, you are right about the framing being too tight. But honestly, ziploc, this was my very last exposure for the day, and it was framed very differently from all the other shots. So bo bian. I had no more chance already because the clock was up.
Thank you for your kind compliments!

Hi, JellyBelly.
Many many thanks for your encouragement.
I just read the thread where the Mod ed9119 threw a pic out to everyone to critique.
And it gave me lots of pointers on how I could better do my shoots.
I am learning every day.
Once again, thank you very very much!

Well, since it's a plain background you can always change your composition in post giving it more head room.

Hello, m3lv1nh0. Thank you for coming onto this thread and giving me your advice.
Mmm... This photo posted here is exactly how I took it, with no cropping done.
I really have no more headroom there... haha....
Certainly will learn to give myself more leeway in the future.

I meant changing the composition in post production. You can add in more space on top since it's just red background. ;)

Oh... I see.
Yeah, I vaguely thought to myself that was what I guess you meant.
I believe the Clone tool would be the best to 'enlarge' the image canvas.
Thank you for that suggestion, m3lv1nh0.

Hello, everyone.
After all the encouragement and very detailed advice from my very good CS-er friends, I have re-done my PP on the skin tone for Zoey.
I have removed blemishes and blur out the skin and USM the eyes. I have plucked up the courage to display it here (as compared with the very first version I posted earlier on in the thread).
I hope this works.
Certainly would be grateful for any advice.
