May I ask which is better?

a) Milvus t* 100mm f/2M ze
b) Classic makro-planar t* 100mm f/2 ze

Just from reading...it's not a true macro lens just a closeup function 1:2 if a macro lens is your intention.
It's an upgrade of the older model with new lens coating for digital high resolution sensors and also autofocus +aperture.
From DXO tests both models are close... It's not cheap perhaps very successful portrait and wedding photographers
have the budget for it. But seriously sharpness is not everything for portraits. Nice bokeh.

Thanks.
Was thinking getting a 1:1 macro lens but then maybe get this 2-in-1 lens (either Milvus or Classic) to shoot a bit of macro and portraits.
I feel that for portraits, a sharp enough lens is sufficient. no need too sharp....

Will get classic Zeiss because I think design of Milvus lenses is really aweful. Ugly and grip is pathetic.

Thanks for your advice. I also prefer the classic design.
shall save up!

I just got a distagon 35mm f2 ZE yesterday and I must say I was really blown away with the image quality! It's absolutely fantastic and I love how smooth the focus ring is and how compact it is compared to my other 35mm lenses. I got it at slr revo because they are having a sale on their zeiss lenses, especially the classic planars and distagons. So if anyone is hoping to get one on the cheap, there's your lobang.

Arrgh.
Missed the lobang (sale). Wanted to get the classic distagon 35mm f/2 ZE too.
