Your monitor resolution for photo veiwing

Just wonder which screen resolution are mostly use for photos viewing among CSers

Mine is 1024 X 768. Upgrade PC then use higher resolution as other program will slow down.

Downside? Web-sized photos look kinda small at 1920x1440..

Well Paul..that is not surprising if you bought those earlier model or entry level priced ones which would have lower resolution pixel LCDs. It is like digital cameras...what with some being 3.1 megapixel and 5 megapixel...etc. If you want those higher resolution models you would have to pay more and even then it might mean getting those larger size LCD. Personally I never really like using LCD to edit my photos. But that is a personally thingy.

Looking at your photos of course if you run it at a higher resolution on as big an LCD or CRT as you can afford would be great. But for editing I dont really need more then a 17inches screen with 24bit colour at 1024x768 since I need to edit the photo at close zoom which allow me to see sometime as small as pixel by pixel. With high resolution pictures I doubt anyone would edit or design looking at the picture fitted to your screen's size. But then again that is just me.

image quality will degrade if u are not running at the optimal resolution. in this case, native resolution for 17" screen is 1280 x 1024.

wish i can afford the 30" apple display one day....then i can view my 1D pix at 100% and fit to screen's size
