barca is an interesting team.

they have a solid system, from youth set-up to the first team. everything is ready and has been slowly built up way before frank rijkaard is in charge.

the way the team functions and play, any manager will be successful as the 'system' is already in place and end user just have to plug in and play.

what I see now is that BR is trying to model a system after the very successful tiki taka total football style made very successful by Barca and the early 70s dutch team. we have to be patient as reaping the reward after what we had sow also takes time.

what we have to do now is to build on an empire, a dynasty and not just some fly-over kingdom, much like what SAF did at manu, even though I hate to admit it, he is really good and impressive. he didn't get onto a successful tenure just by luck or chance. Similarly, he took around 4 to 5 years before things start to turn for the better and he never look back.

difference between his 4-5 years and raf999's 4-5 years in charge is that SAF readily admitted his shortfall in his early years and build on a strong and solid foundation, instead of finding excuses and throwing more smoke into the air.

SAF has my respect and I cannot wait for his tenure at manu to end for I believe it will finally mean the end of a successful dynasty as we are slowly building on ours. :bsmilie:

Bob Paisley took over a successful system put in place by Bill Shankly after having worked his way up from the famous boot room.
LFC played the same flowing style and we dominated. it is interesting to note that Bill had took the team up from the old 2nd division and put in place his own footballing philosophy and playing style.



everlose had no $$, no reputation and definitely, nothing to lose. david moyes had nowhere else to go as he is not a big name manager and definitely he is considered a huge risk for wealthy clubs. track record, remember?


thus, everlose can choose to invest whatever little $$ they had in everlose and the last 2 seasons have shown that it is finally paying off. they are a force to be reckoned with and once their financial status improves, they should be able to form a very strong team with a high work ethics.


our path to future success is definitely shorter, with a less steep curvature as the club is in better financial state than everlose ever was.

I believe that next season we will climb back into top 4 and the following season, we should be challenging for top 3.


it takes time to build an empire and even more so, understanding and patience. Rome wasn't build in a single day. we will get freak result from time to time as the team is still moulding and getting to know the system. raf999 finished in 5th place in his first season with us and taking into account that back then, the EPL wasn't as competitive as it is now. back then, he had alot of deadwoods and falsehoods to clear too. in fact he won the Euro Cup with a strong core of players signed by GH.

the new playing style is entertaining with plenty of possession and lots of chances being created. yet, it exposes alot of flaws in some of our players. it is clear to see that martin skirtie falls very short off the new playing style as he was liable to a number of costly errors ever since the start of the season.


in short, we should place our trust in the management/owner and until they/he decides that enough is enough, then probably it is time to move on.

till then, we as true fans should get behind the manager and the team, bearing in mind that BR has only got not more than 1 season under his belt with LFC.
