I was at Henry park again today, and I saw a really amazing site! Really the law of nature at work.

First, the Lynx was already feeding on this spider...not sure how long....when I notice this little heavy jumper sneaking over, peeking at them. At first, I thought...nah...so small its not going to eat the lynx.

Later, it started to approach closer, than stalk it....than "POUNCE!" in a blink of an eye, it grabbed the lynx at the middle and ended up suspended with its safety line. The lynx meal was thrown aside of course. The jumper stayed at that position for quite sometime, I guess to let the venom sink in. Later it started to drag it along to somewhere.

Wow, I have seen spider eating spider before, but not 3 in a row....so seems like Heavy Jumer>Lynx>some unknown spider... thats the law of nature at work!

I am posting the sequence as I saw it, and both taken with FZ10+6T+Sigma CU and A610+reverse lens, + my Achiever 828 with taped on Stofen.
All at F8, ISO 50 various speeds

APOLOGIES if its too long winded.....

Thanks Megaweb, swimaniac, sumball and domvonn!

Yeh...really enjoyed the shoot....good thing I spotted it at the start of my son's lesson....so had almost an hr to shoot it.......was thinking whether this JS would do it or not....in fact it pounce after 3-5s after shot #5!

If I had taken it at the instant it jump in mid-air........;) that will surely make my day:bsmilie:

wah, damn shiok series.... can feel your excitement as you bring us through the sequence. if i got chance to see this i dunno if i can keep my hands steady and head clear enough to frame and shoot or not.

i like #12, the JS eyes big big and out of focus, while the lynx is "painfully" sharp... very drama.

Well, abit cumbersome to switch camera since I only left with one flash. Thats why missed out on a fighting spider shot too as was switching camera....but at least manage to get these 2 (or 3)

This the the kind of thing professional wildlife photographers wish they'd come across.
Not only were you lucky enough to be right there at the right time, you also took the kind of photos to properly capture it with the skill, flair, and narrative sequencing professionals do.

Wow!
