woah... u going tour isit?
normally carry 1 bag is enuf.
long hours with lots of walking, i bring backpack such as Rover AW.

i bring 1 lousy-looking small backpack.
inside contains 1 water bottle, 1 SLR and 1 compact.

now a days i cannot go out without my bottle of water... very hot ar!
(have to save $$ to develop film... heehee...)

it really depends on what ya have and what ya need.
some only has and wants to bring a single simple camera set up.
some likes to bring and happened to have everything.

personally. 1 big bag for everything will be nice.

enjoy

my laptop messenger bag for a dslr with attached lens, extra lens & perphaps a flash unit. drinks buy from outside or a small bottle in the water proof compartment.

i used to use a simple backpack with two mesh pockets at the sides for a water bottle and a lens.
inside it will be things like CD player, street directory, and other stuff.
i just sling my cam over my shoulder.

it didn't give my equipment the protection they needed so now i use a Lowepro Mini Trekker AW and dump everything inside.
too bad it doesn't have mesh pockets at the sides for a water bottle though.
and it's quite bulky too, especially when i strap on my tripod on the back.
it's always in the way on a crowded MRT.

My Deuter backpack with my toploader inside plus all my junk.. (extra tshirt - uyou will never know when you need it, water bottle, cleaning kit, gatsby wet tissues - to wipe my face...) ;) and my digital PnS for some candid shots

err ... camera bag with all the cam stuff inside ... water bottle .. either stuff inside (if got space) .. or wear waist pouch which can hold bottle + tissue + discman perhaps ..

For a very serious shoot: I carry 3 bags: One for body, one for lens, one for my misc stuff like extra batteries and memory cards. I also carry another case for my tripod. However, I try to put the 3 bags into a bigger bag. I seperate my euipment to prevent abrasion because i walk reasonably fast during photoshoots.

For some simple events or family shots, I just have one bag for my digital camera. Save the extra trouble.

just 1 bag as well,
I have a few bags of different sizes.
To be used with different setups.
I try to bring as little as possible.

I only have Lowepro 400AW
But sometime I will take out the inner part and put in my timberland backbag

This is when I need to bring my lens along :)
