Cheers to all,

Have this Travelmate TM800 (2-1/2 yrs old). Confirmed with ACER helpdesk that this particular model does not come with the ability to control brightness but only contrast control.

(Q) Short of throwing away my notebook and buying another, is that a hardware / software product in the market that permits me to calibrate my monitor by just adjusting the contrast (not the brightness)? e.g. Tried the free Adobe Gamma and even this basic program needs me to adjust both.

Appreciate the help of fellow ClubSNAPPers. Thank you.

I used Gretag Macbeth Eye-one of my old Acer T35E and it works okay...:)

Thanks for replying... btw, do you remember if the program requires to adjust your Acer's brightness & contrast as my particular notebook model does not have a brightness control?

Notebook under calibration only brightness is required on my old Acer T632XV. My now PowerBook only brightness also, no contrast control.
